Worship this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. | |
This Sunday we continue to explore our heritage, as we conclude our “Rooted” sermon series looking at John Wesley’s advice on money. Yes, I know the perils of preaching on money! Yet as you read scripture, money and possessions are a common theme. By one count, there are more the 2300 verses in the Bible on money, wealth, and possessions. The reason for this is that it is a topic that impacts all our lives.
For those raised in the Methodist tradition, Wesley’s three rules on money may be familiar:
Gain all you can.
Save all you can.
Give all you can.
In Sunday’s sermon, we will explore each of these rules, examining the scriptural basis for each, and how they might apply in our lives. While the three simple rules are easy to remember, there are important nuances to each of them that are worth unpacking. And I look forward to doing this with you.
Plan to join us for worship. Remember that we are on our summer schedule, with one service at 10:00 a.m. We will share prayer, song, scripture (Luke 16:10-15 & 1 Timothy 6:6-20), and the celebration of holy communion.
It will be good to worship together!
Peace,
Pastor Shawn
