2024 Partners in Mission Appeal

Birmingham and Berkley First is making a measurable impact through our partnerships with 21 mission agencies locally, nationally, and internationally. Together, we are educating children, constructing housing, and sharing the love of Jesus in ways both tangible and transformative.

Sundays through March 17, Missions Ministry leaders will share about this work in worship at Birmingham First and will be available in Thomas Parlor to connect with you after each service. Please consider becoming a Partner in Mission by supporting this year’s annual appeal. Gifts can be made online or through the offering; just make sure to designate your gift as “Missions”.

Experience this holy time reflected in a special way through words and music. Funding for this concert is provided by a generous Friend of Music. Tickets are not required. Donations will be accepted to continue to make musical performances like this one possible.

The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament almost here. That means it’s time again for March Madness for Missions! Selection Sunday is March 17th in Fellowship Hall between worship services, so make sure to sign up to get a bracket or two for our annual March Madness for Missions contest. Will you be rooting for the Spartans this year (if they squeak in)? The Big Ten leading Boilermakers? Or perhaps a national favorite like defending champion UConn? It’s fun for the whole family to see who can pick the most teams correctly. Who knows – we might be putting your name on the trophy for 2024! In the end, everybody wins, as your $10 entry donations go to support our missions programs hard at work helping so many in need in our communities and around the world.

Email Mark Adams at adams400@aol.com and he’ll get you signed up. Auto-pick and donation-only will again be available.

This Shoe Drive, led by Sophia Gust, runs until Sunday, March 31. There will be 2 drop off boxes- 1 at the main entrance and one at the CLC entrance.

Sophia writes: I was inspired to begin this shoe drive by Nina Gust, who is a medical student at Henry Ford Hospital. She informed me that lots of her patients enter the hospital without any shoes. This is because some patients enter the ICU via ambulance and don’t have time to grab any shoes. Other patients are homeless and don’t have any shoes to leave the hospital. This touched my heart and I felt extreme empathy for these patients so I began a shoe drive at my school. I was unsure if anyone would even donate but I took a risk. I ended up receiving 120 pairs of shoes for the hospital. I hope to expand the shoe drive to other hospitals in Detroit. Let’s put the best foot forward and donate as many shoes as possible!

Shoes that are not accepted: flip-flops, open toe, cleats, heels, winter boots
