As we gather to celebrate Independence Day, we find ourselves in a season of uncertainty. The world around us feels fragile, and the path forward can seem unclear. Yet, in the midst of these times, we are reminded of the resilient spirit that has carried our nation through many trials.
Independence Day is more than fireworks and barbecues; it is a moment to reflect on the courage and vision of those who dared to dream of a land of freedom, justice and liberty for all. Today, we too are called to embody that same courage and vision, trusting in God's unwavering presence and grace.
In the face of challenges, let us hold fast to our faith and our hope. Let us be instruments of peace, justice, and love, serving our neighbors and communities with compassion and kindness. Remember that God’s light shines brightest in the darkness, guiding us toward a future filled with promise.
As we celebrate this day, may we also pray for our nation, seeking God's guidance and blessing in all we do. Let us lift our voices in unity, trusting that God is with us, now and always.
A Prayer for Our Nation
Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage:
We humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will.
Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners.
Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way.
Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues.
Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in thy Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to thy law, we may show forth thy praise among the nations of the earth.
In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in thee to fail; all which we ask through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
With faith and hope,
