How to support the next generation—while also supporting your practice.

Many advisors are noticing an increase in conversations about next generation planning. Key factors in this trend include aging clients with higher-than-expected net worth and the current media coverage of the upcoming Tax Act expiration and its implications.

As an advisor, you focus on helping clients build and secure their financial future. However, when it comes to the critical steps needed to ensure that your clients’ estate plans will be properly executed when needed, there may not be a comprehensive understanding of the tools available.

In fact, there are valuable options that may help empower your clients to make the right choice for their families—and increase the likelihood of an ongoing role for you as an advisor—as assets transfer from one generation to the next.  Read more >

A message from FPA of Michigan Connecting Partner, Patrick Verdon, CIMA® of John Hancock Investment Management.

I'm excited to share our latest white paper, "Developing a Framework for Active ETF Due Diligence", is now available. This resource offers valuable insights into the growing marketplace of active ETFs and provides important factors to consider when evaluating and selecting these funds for clients' investment portfolios.

Since the adoption of the ETF rule in 2019, active ETFs have been gaining momentum with both issuers and investors. However, we've noticed that there may be uncertainty about how to approach the due diligence process for these funds. This white paper addresses that issue by highlighting key considerations that should be kept in mind when evaluating and selecting active ETFs.

We believe that the ETF structure will increasingly be viewed as a preferable way to access active exposure. This resource can serve as a valuable tool for highlighting our knowledge, experience, and capabilities within this space. I encourage everyone to look at the white paper and share with those who could benefit from this information.
