A Message from ITGA Executive Director Beth Bagwell
Colleagues and friends of the ITGA,

Happy New Year! I hope that 2021 brings new opportunities for each of us and that we continue to learn from each other as we expand our essential networks. We need each other now more than ever and ITGA is committed to improving the quality of life in host communities and campuses around the globe.

To start the year off right, you are invited to attend the State of the ITGA Address, January 6, 12:00-12:30pm (EST). This is an opportunity for attendees to meet members of the Board and submit questions that you would like for us to address. Please send comments or questions to Beth@itga.org by Jan 2, 2021. We will discuss features of our new website, sponsorship opportunities, new membership rates and you will hear from Committee Chairs on ways you can be more involved with ITGA in 2021. If you are unable to attend, this webinar will be recorded. To register, click here.

ITGA is launching a Town-Gown Turn Around Series, January 27, from noon-1:00pm (EST). As you know, in 2020 the extreme health risks caused by the global pandemic forced Colleges and Universities to send students, faculty and staff home, close campuses and cancel nearly all institution sponsored community activities (except football). These decisions had, and will continue to have, profound impacts on businesses and residential communities around campuses, from small college towns, to major metropolitan centers and traditional education corridors. How to rebuild these communities and revive the local economy is a unique town-gown challenge that will require partnership, teamwork and creative solutions.

Part of ITGA's mission is to strengthen campus-community partnerships. This webinar will put a spotlight on how developments and partnerships can turn around downtown areas, increase retail sales, extend campus life boundaries, and make positive impacts. If you are interested in having your successful efforts highlighted, please send an email to Beth@itga.org about the initiatives you are utilizing by January 10. To register for the webinar, click here.

Finally, be sure to submit a proposal for ITGA's City & University Relations Conference, May 24-26. This virtual conference, hosted by Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Marquette University, is one you don't want to miss! The theme for the 2021 Conference is Innovating for Tomorrow, Together. To see the tracks and submission details, click here. The Call for Proposals are open until Friday, February 19. Be sure to take advantage of the Early Bird rates by January 21. For registration info, click here.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, and remember, we are here for YOU so reach out to us anytime!

Sincerely,

Beth Bagwell, MPA
ITGA Executive Director
