In honor of Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation's 30th anniversary, the Illinois House of Representatives voted on a resolution to make May 21, 2024 officially Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation Day!
Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation (IACT), designated as the 10th "Clean Cities" coalition by the U.S. Department of Energy on May 13, 1994 (formerly Chicago Area Clean Cities until 2022), celebrated its 30th anniversary last week.
Over the past 30 years, IACT has built bipartisan support, advanced clean transportation technologies, and improved energy security and quality of life in Illinois. IACT's efforts have eliminated an estimated 2.2 million tons of emissions and implemented over 15,000 alternative fuel vehicles and 400 fuel stations. The coalition has also helped school districts adopt low-emission buses and improved equitable access to advanced transportation.
Filed by State Representative Kimberly Du Buclet, the bill was passed unanimously by those who voted to declare May 21, 2024, as Illinois Alliance For Clean Transportation Day.
Happy Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation Day!
