Students start new organizations, bring opportunities

Ohio University has an abundance of student organizations and clubs for students to join. There are nearly 600 student organizations, but there are ways for students to start a new one if interested. New organizations are always popping up on campus, and it is not uncommon for students to find a new interest in starting a club. The Ohio University Student Organization Handbook begins by explaining how to double-check Bobcat Connect for similar organizations. If there is no organization outlining a similar idea, students are encouraged to proceed. Read the story here.

Men's Basketball: Ohio survives in overtime against Ball State

Ohio is now the winner of six of its last seven games after securing a thrilling 84-79 win against Ball State on the road in overtime. In overtime, Ohio’s 12 points were enough to keep Ball State, who hurt itself quite a bit at the free-throw line in overtime, out of contention. A defining moment of overtime was on an Ohio defensive possession with under a minute left to play in the overtime period. The shot missed the mark, but when Anderson came down, whistles blew, signifying a shooting foul on Wiznitzer, which would yield three free throws from Anderson. Read the story here.

Opinion: College is an anxious place for students. I walk around campus constantly worrying about what everyone thinks about my every move. Talking to my friends and fellow students, they agree that college is a stressful time. Theater Thursday: 'The Phantom of the Opera' has a sequel

This week, Theater Thursday discusses "The Phantom of the Opera." While it's one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most well-known works, today, we will focus on its criminally underrated sequel, "Love Never Dies." Most know the tale of "The Phantom of the Opera." The show tells a story of romance, loss and mystery, and the characters become more interesting with every passing second. At the end of the show, audiences are left to wonder what became of the Phantom after the opera house burned down. On March 9, 2010, our questions were answered as "Love Never Dies" premiered on the West End.” Read the story here.

Tiffany McCann is the owner, operator and artist of Athens Hot Glass. Her store on Kern Street features many types of 3d art and also holds monthly events that bring in local and professional sculptors, glassmakers and artists. Athens Hot Glass also hosts private glassmaking events for all levels of glassmakers. There are also weekend hot shot blowing classes and evening flameworking classes. Watch the story here.
