July 10-14: Fostering Health and Well-Being Across Extension

Sponsored by the National Association of Extension Program and Staff Development Professionals, this "virtual summer school" focuses on efforts at the organizational, managerial, employee and community levels to provide health and well-being programs and opportunities for employees and clientele. The week wraps up with a discussion of ways to tell our health and well-being story more effectively.

July 20: When to Use P-Cards Versus Travel Cards

Do you have a P-Card or Travel Card? During this July 20 webinar (noon to 12:30 p.m.), learn when to use them and the restrictions for both. This will be a helpful overview for both long-term and new UC ANR staff.

Apply for Education Reimbursement funds by Oct. 31

UC ANR Staff Assembly provides financial assistance for career and professional training and development through the Educational Reimbursement Program.


If you participated or will participate in a training or career development activity between April 16, 2023 and Oct. 31, 2023, the next deadline to apply for reimbursement is Oct. 31, 2023.


All ANR career staff employees (represented and non-represented) who have completed the probationary period are eligible to apply, as well as all UCCE County paid staff employees in good standing.

Pay for Family Care and Bonding income replacement at 100%

Editor's note: This new section of the newsletter will highlight benefits and resources available to UC staff.


Effective Jan. 1 of this year, Pay for Family Care and Bonding (PFCB) income replacement increased from 70% to 100% of eligible earnings.


Initially introduced in 2020, this program originally became effective on July 1, 2021 and provided 70% income replacement for up to eight weeks for employees who take approved leave to care for a seriously ill family member or bond with a new child.


Income replacement increased to 100% of eligible earnings in January 2023.

All staff members at UC Agriculture and Natural Resources are part of UC ANR Staff Assembly. We on the Staff Assembly Council help advise senior leadership and advocate on your behalf, and we also organize programs and events that promote your professional development and personal growth. (Note: Academics are members of our counterpart entity, Academic Assembly.)
