Round Rock Area Serving Center

Have you been looking for a way to get more involved and give back? Join us as we get a St. Richard's team together to donate our time and effort at the Serving Center. With the support of your prayers and generosity, the Round Rock Area Serving Center has completed its Legacy of Compassion Capital Campaign! In just two years, from June 2022 to June 2024, we have raised $7 million dollars in pledges and donations to complete an additional building that will help the Serving Center meet the needs of our community for years to come. Construction will begin as soon as the city approves all the permits. Thank you again for your ongoing support!

RRASC Food Donation Bins

When children are out of school, food insecurity increases. Please consider donating pantry staples, canned goods, and baby supplies in our purple collection bin in the entryway. Karamu tickets are now available!

The Serving Center’s annual fundraiser will take place on Saturday, August 10th at Kalahari Resort beginning at 6pm. It will be a fun filled evening of music, food and great entertainment. Join the celebration by going HERE to purchase your tickets. The deadline to RSVP is August 1st. If you want to sit with the St. Richard’s tribe, please enter St. Richard’s where it asks for table preference. Hope to see you there!

Quilts of Valor

The next Quilts of Valor gathering will be July 15th in the classroom in the parish hall. If you would like to participate or have questions, please email hastingsroberta@aol.com. We are happy to help, even if you don't know how to sew but have a sewing machine. We have only one extra machine, if you need to use it. We are moving fast so if you would like to donate red, white, and blue fabric, we would certainly appreciate it. We have a Tax ID number if you would like to write it off.



Fund a Scholarship for a St. Richard's College Student

Help the St. Richard's chapter of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew fund a scholarship for a St. Richard’s college student.  For each $25 donation, you will receive an 18oz tumbler. Available in the Narthex after morning services or contact Curt Young (737-888-0843).

Prayer Shawl Group Meetings Postponed

The Prayer Shawl Group will not be meeting again until September 19th. For more information about joining our group, please contact Bea DeMarquis (beatricedemarquis@yahoo.com). All knitters and crocheters are welcome!

A Musical Feast Concert Series


Our July 14 program features renowned Austin singer/songwriters Jan Seides and Cat McGee! Come in out of the heat at 5 pm to enjoy “Cool Nights,” a concert of award-winning, lyric-driven contemporary folk songs that combine uptown sophistication with down-home truth. Free; donations for the musicians gratefully accepted at the door ($10 suggested.)


Film Club


Like discussing movies and what they might mean to you or even the filmmakers themselves? Do you have thoughts on a film's meaning, spirituality, and what makes quality storytelling? Then join us as we talk about movies from all angles - from pure entertainment value to the creative craftsmanship of making a film and putting it into the world. We'll discuss One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975, rated R, available to rent on streaming services) on Wednesday, July 24th from 7pm-8:30pm in the Parish Hall. Contact Amy Nordhausen to be added to the Film Club email list: ameliaclaire@hotmail.com

MUSIC MINISTRY

Ever wanted to sing with the choir, but couldn’t make Wednesday rehearsals? We’re now on summer schedule, and welcome singers aged 10 and up to join us in the Nave by the piano Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.! Learn an easy anthem, review the hymns with us, and then stick around to sing for the 10:30 service. No audition, no processions, no robing – just come as you are and join us in song! (Note: no anthems July 28 and August 4, but do come help lead our hymn singing!)


And … if you play an instrument and would like to offer a selection for prelude or postlude, please contact Sara Burden-McClure at sara@saintrichards.org !

Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Saturdays at 9 a.m. in the Ridley Room

Men often struggle to build strong connections with other men, or to find spaces where they can be vulnerable about the challenges they face— things like marital strife, questions of faith, and how to be an effective parent. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is designed to fill that need. If you are a man in the church looking for the things described above, consider joining us. Daughters of the King, July 14th Parish Hall Meeting Room

On Sunday, July 14th, after the 10:30 service, the Daughters will have their meeting in the Parish Hall.   Any woman interested in DOK is very welcome to join our meeting and encouraged to come. We are planning to start the discernment study for those thinking about becoming a Daughter very soon, come see if God is calling you!
