St. Peter Weekly News!

Principal's Message:

Dear St. Peter Family,

As the second quarter is now under way, I have a few things to pass along...beginning next Wednesday, our students in grades K-5 will no longer be permitted to wear shorts to school. Boys must wear pants, and girls may wear pants or their skirts/jumpers. This is of course due to cooler weather. We try our best to give students outdoor recess whenever possible. As long as it is dry and above 32 degrees, we have outdoor recess. Please be sure to put names in sweatshirts, hats, mittens, and coats. I know these items are expensive, and we get quite a few in our lost and found! Shorts will be permitted again beginning April 1st. Another matter I wanted to address is our school Mass on Wednesdays. I have had both parents and teachers concerned about security when our students attend Mass. After discussing this valid concern with Mr. Short, we decided our best option is to extend Mr. Short's hours and have him present in the Church foyer every Wednesday morning during Mass. Please be sure to let Mr. Short know how much we appreciate his efforts in keeping our children safe, anytime you see him or with a quick email. We are very blessed to have him at our great school! Lastly, Tuesday is Halloween! Students may come to school out of uniform if they wear Halloween themed shirts/colors. Ripped jeans, leggings and pajama pants are not appropriate for school. Shirts with scary images or horror film references are also inappropriate. No costumes. Parents will be called to bring uniform clothes if teachers deem attire inappropriate. Thank you for your attention to these details! Please keep our teachers in your prayers. We have a few with some upcoming surgeries, and I know prayers are always appreciated. Wishing you all a wonderful October weekend...can't believe November is almost here!

St. Peter, Friend of Jesus,

St. Peter Athletics

Sign up to volunteer in our concessions! There must be one adult and no more than 3 people at a time.

Our concessions support our athletics program. We are currently looking to upgrade our basketball rims to be adjustable for 3/4 grade heights, update our scoreboards, and purchase new nets for volleyball.

This is a great way to fulfill service hour requirements, get to know other St Peter families, and stay involved with the program.

Below is the link to sign up.

Spooky Lunch on Tuesday!

We welcome our veterans and active-duty military to St. Peter on Friday, November 10th at 10:00AM. The University of Dayton ROTC will present the colors, our students will honor our heroes, and we are working on a special guest speaker. Please spread the word to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.! Please RSVP by contacting Mrs. Kadel or calling Mrs. Moorman in the school office at 937-233-8710.

Dayton & Montgomery County has seen an increased number of whooping cough cases. Whooping cough is an infection that affects the airways. The bacteria that cause whooping cough can easily spread from person to person by coughing or sneezing.

If your child has been diagnosed with whooping cough by his or her doctor:

  • Tell the school that a doctor diagnosed your child with whooping cough.
  • You will need to keep your child home from school and activities, such as sports or play groups, until your child has been on appropriate antibiotics for five days to treat whooping cough.
  • Ask your child’s doctor for a note that states your child has whooping cough.

Thank You, Eagles!

Members of the Chaminade Julienne Football Team spent "Make A Difference Day" reading, encouraging, and playing with our students. What good role models for our students to look up to. Check out our Facebook page for more photos of their service!
