St. Peter Weekly News!

Principal's Message:

Dear St. Peter Family,

You have heard me say many times that St. Peter School is blessed with some of the best teachers around. I have the utmost confidence in our teachers...the brand-new ones and our veterans! I always pray for my teachers and pray that I find the best teachers for our children, and I believe God delivered for us BIG TIME this year! As you know, we have also been blessed to be able to add a School Safety Officer to our staff, Mr. Scott Short. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Short in May, shortly before he retired from the Huber Heights Police Department, and I clearly remember telling him he was an answer to our prayers! In the few short weeks, Mr. Short has been with us, he has become an invaluable asset to our school community. Mr. Short takes his job quite seriously and is always looking for ways to improve our security. Please join Mr. Short and me on Tuesday, September 5th at 7PM for a brief meeting on our safety plan here at St. Peter School. You will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Short, and I can tell you now, you will leave feeling he is a perfect fit for our school family. We will share improvements already made to our building along with what we are planning next! We hope to see you there! Please have a safe, fun, and relaxing Labor Day, and we will see you next week!

St. Peter, Friend of Jesus,

PRAY FOR US!

Please check your child's lunch account to make sure they have money for lunches and snack bar. Lunches are $3.50 per day. Mr. DeVaney has a number of students with a negative balance. You may add money to your account online with check or credit card. You may also send cash or check into school in an envelope with their names on the front. Mr. DeVaney will get the money and add it to their account.

If you have a new student in kindergarten that was in Preschool at St. Peter last year, you will need to add their new number to your account and delete the Preschool one. If there is money on the Preschool account, it can be transferred to the school account.

Mum Sale!

Don't forget to sell mums over the long weekend. The sale ends on Wednesday, September 5th, and we are only a third of the way to our goal! Remember, all proceeds from PTO fundraisers are used for the students! Thank you for your support!

8th Grade Leaders

Last Friday, our 8th Graders spent the day at Camp Kern working on leadership skills and collaboration. We are very proud to have this great group of students leading our school and cannot wait to see all the amazing things they will do this year!

Grandparents (and other special friends) are invited to join us for Mass this Wednesday, September 6th at 9AM! Grandparents are welcome to sit with their grandchild(ren). We have found that if grandparents wait outside the Church doors that it is easier to locate their grandchildren. Please just be sure to have grandparents tell the teacher(s) that their grandchild(ren) will be sitting with them for Mass. All are welcome to stay for a few minutes after Mass and share a snack in our parking lot outside the Family Life Center. Students will return to class by 10:30. Hope you can join our Grandparents' Day celebration!

Congratulations, Justin!

Congratulations to 8th Grader, Justin Apwisch, who was awarded after our school Mass last week for writing an award-winning essay for our local AMVETS. Very well done, Justin!

Go Panthers!

Our 5th grade boys are off to a great start this season, thanks in part, to their two absolutely amazing teachers who cheered them on to a win Thursday night against St. Helen...Miss Friel's alma mater! Way to go, Panthers!
