News & Events

I Spy St. James! Can you? Every Sunday, our parish's patron, St. James, will be on the move to a new location in the parish hall. As the patron of walkers and pilgrims, he's decided to join us on our own pilgrimage to Stillwell Hall for a little fun. Kids and youth, be on the lookout and if you locate him, make sure you tell one of the clergy so they can let you choose a sticker or piece of candy at the altar. If you spy St. James, make sure not to move him so others can find him too!

Dedicate Sunday's Flowers in Thanksgiving or in Memory of Someone Special.

Sponsoring a flower dedication for our Sunday services is a meaningful way to honor, give thanks, or remember someone important to you. Contact a member of the Flower Guild for more information or click the button below to reserve your Sunday.

Worship & Adult Formation

This summer, all worship will be in the Parish Hall. Our weekend services will all take place on Sundays, at 8 a.m. (Rite I), 10 a.m. (Rite II with Choir), and 5 p.m. The Sunday 5 p.m. Eucharist will be an opportunity to experience new and creative liturgies. Click the button below to learn more about our Sunday Summer Evening liturgical series.

Sunday Summer Evening Schedule at St. James

Experience Holy Eucharist with a Dramatic Play for Sermon this Sunday, August 6 at 5 p.m. The Rev. Philip Wiehe will direct a dramatic sermon based on the Good Samaritan with several actors. Join us for this unique expression of a beloved story!

Do you want to serve in worship? St. James needs additional people to read and serve chalice, particularly at the early and late services on Sunday. You must be confirmed to serve chalice. Anyone can read. Please contact David and he will get you in the rotation.

Does someone you know need communion? Many of our parishioners experience seasons of life where in-person attendance is difficult or impossible. During those times, our Lay Eucharistic Visitors are available to bring communion to them once a month or more, depending on the need. Let David+ or Ellen Fields, who leads this ministry, know if you think one of our homebound or sick members needs visiting.

There will be no Sunday Adult Formation during the summer months and Nave repair.

The Wednesday Healing Eucharist at noon and Monday Morning Prayer at 8:30 will continue during the Nave project in the Parish Hall.

Please be sure to wear your name tag! Wearing your name tag helps us get to know each other, especially newcomers, better. If you have lost your name tag, you can request a new one on the clipboard in the reception area.

Gluten-free wafers are available during communion for those with celiac disease or medical issues. You may request this gluten-free option at communion from the priest.

The Thursday Thrift Shop is in need of donations. We're looking for housewares, linens, furniture, home decor items, books, and toys. We also need men's, women's, and children's clothing, and accessories such as shoes, jewelry, and purses. Donations and consignments can be dropped off on Monday and Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thank you for your support.

Children & Family Ministry

Buy a sticker of Emoji Christoph to support Christoph! Earlier this year, a talented member of our youth group, Juliette Broenner, drew an adorable image of Christoph which is now available to purchase as a sticker. Whether it's on a laptop, water bottle, or notebook, this sticker can remind you to keep Christoph and his family in your prayers during his illness. The stickers are 3" x 3", made out of durable vinyl, and $5 each.

To purchase one, put $5 in the box by his office and take a sticker. Proceeds will go to the Herpel family.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Sunday School is offered every Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Atrium by the Trinity Room for ages 2 through 5th grade. Children will return during the Peace in church.

Tired of Emails? Youth and Parents Can Stay Connected with St. James via text. Join our Remind account by texting @2fhfhb2 to 81010. We will post upcoming events, photos, and reminders here and all will go directly to your phone.
