Combined Service at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary

Watch Online Here

This year we will continue our tradition of celebrating Holy Week in part with our sister churches: Christ Presbyterian Church and Community West. Our schedule will be:

Maundy Thursday – Thursday, March 28 – St. Giles

St. Giles will host our Maundy Thursday service this year, and we will be doing something quite different this year. All three churches are invited to join together for a simple soup and bread meal that will go from at 5:45-6:45pm, followed by a service at 7:00pm. Maundy Thursday focuses on Christ’s teaching: “A new command I give you…as I have loved you, so you must love one another.” We hope to press in on this world changing teaching by having a time together of fellowship and hospitality. There is no cost for this meal, we ask that you simply come.

Good Friday – Friday, March 29 – Community West

Our Good Friday service this year will be hosted by Community West. This special service will begin at 7:00pm at their new facility at: 2340 Pump Rd, Henrico, VA 23233

Easter Sunday – Sunday, March 31 – St. Giles

Easter will once again be a unified service here at St. Giles beginning at 10:30. We will have our “flowering cross” that you can bring flowers to decorate before the service. Afterwards we hope you will stick around for catered snacks while the kids are invited to participate in an Easter egg hunt with over 1,000 eggs.

For Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday worship at St. Giles, we are calling all singers for a Community Choir to sing a simple anthem in worship. This is a great, low-time commitment opportunity for folks who love to sing and want to help make a joyful noise. Here’s the schedule for Holy Week:

  • Maundy Thursday - Rehearse in the sanctuary at 6:30 PM, worship at 7:00 PM. Song link here.
  • Easter Sunday - Rehearse in the sanctuary at 10:00 AM, worship at 10:30 AM. Song link here.

If you want to participate, plan to arrive in the sanctuary at the listed rehearsal time. No sign up is necessary, but questions can be sent to Ben Miller (BMiller@StGiles.org). We’ll see you there!

This Sunday is the second and final week we will have our annual “Global Missions Expansion Offering.” The Lord is at work through St. Giles in the world. We have many missionaries that we support all around the world along with multiple church relationships where we are physically present with our brothers and sisters in Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Uganda. Every year we budget to support these ministries, however, there are multiple needs and travelling that arises throughout the year that our budget does not cover. This is where the Mission Expansion Fund comes in! Through this we are able to send more people to our relationship-building churches, we are able to assist with emergency needs of missionaries, and we are also able to take on unique projects and opportunities as they arise.

Over the next two weeks, would you consider prayerfully discerning how the Lord is calling you and your family to help support this incredible work at St. Giles. We will have envelopes available along with a new brochure starting this Sunday.

Reception Team

Volunteer Opportunity

There are many ways to serve at St. Giles. One of those ways is to be a part of the Reception Team. What we normally do for receptions is set up the reception area, place food and punch on the tables, man the cake and punch tables, and replenish the food dishes. Afterwards, we clean up. People can choose what they want to do. If you are interested in being on the Reception Team, please call Jo White at (804) 937-6836 or email her at joeloisewhite@gmail.com

As part of a Faith Leaders and Richmond Police Department collaboration, we will have a community walk with one of our partnering churches, Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, on April 13th from 12:00PM to around 2:00PM and I invite you to join us.

We joined forces to help the community better. Unfortunately, police normally can’t help with situations until the situation has become toxic, harmful and catastrophic. So, we had to come up with a way to be proactive.

To be proactive we have to meet people where they are and be there at their most vulnerable times. That way, instead of waiting and reacting to something that happened, we can detect and prevent it from happening or from getting much worse. Through a Relationship Building protocol, we can get help for families with issues like depression, anger, substance abuse, pregnancy, etc. faster. And if they have not yet met Jesus, they can meet him through our actions.

Matthew 5:16: In the same way, let your light shine before others,

that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Will you walk with us? For more information call Jo White at (804) 937-6836 or go to https://www.teamforgod.com/relationship-bldg.
