FLOOD RELIEF NEEDED FOR SOUTHERN MALAWI
As of Monday, March 20, the death toll in Malawi was 476 and rising as a result of Tropical Cyclone Freddy. Devastation is worse than past flooding because of mud slides. More than 500 homes of congregants within the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi were destroyed.
Bishop Alinafe Kalemba reported to Warm Heart International that the Diocese is active in helping those who lost homes to start life again by supporting them with food, utensils, bedding, clothing, and other needs in temporary shelters – whether at church facilities or in homes of neighbors. Bags of maize are being provided by government programs and other countries.
Donations for flood relief through Warm Heart International will be sent to the Anglican Diocese of Southern Malawi for use as designated by Bishop Alinafe Kalemba. Donations may be given through our online form by selecting “Warm Heart International” fund and “Flood Relief” sub fund from the menus.

HOLY CONVERSATION
Theology and Transgender Identity
Sunday, April 16, 10 a.m., Crail C
While the Episcopal Church has made clear that it affirms, includes, and defends the rights of transgender people, there is still a lot of misunderstanding and confusion about what it means to be transgender and how Christians might think about the ethical issues surrounding transgender experience. In this presentation, Dr. Scott Bader-Saye, professor at Seminary of the Southwest, will lead us in reflection on transgender identity in light of the theological themes of creation, grace, and sanctification. As part of the presentation there will be time to discuss the ways transgender youth have been caught up in legislative actions and culture war offensives. One goal of the session will be to help us have faithful and generous conversations with those with whom we disagree.
