The Feast of Pentecost

Please join us as we gather together

in the afternoon this Sunday

and then, beginning Sunday, June 4,

afternoon worship in Spanish

will move to 2:30 pm for the Summer.

please feel free to make a dish to share

that meets your special needs

or just pack a lunch and join us.

Also on Pentecost...

Do you speak another language

or can you read one phonetically?

Consider joining in reading a portion of the Lesson from the Acts of the Apostles on Pentecost. At one point in the reading of the lesson, members of the congregation will all break out into reading a portion of the lesson on multiple tongues simultaneously - as described in the lesson itself. It will sound like a cacophony of voices speaking multiple languages simultaneously - just like the Pentecost event itself. So, you don't have to be completely accurate or proficient - just wiling to give it a try. Please see the link below for more instructions.

in the High Tea

St. Bede's 13th Annual High Tea was a wonderful event. Lovely flower arrangements and fine china transformed the parish hall into a beautiful setting.

Attendees enjoyed delicious savories and sweets and copious amounts of tea. The silent auction and raffle were highlights of the day and provided entertainment.

We are happy to announce the event grossed $5,000. Clarkston Community Health Clinic, Inc. is the designated recipient of the tea proceeds.



The tea is a wonderful opportunity for our neighbors to visit St. Bede’s. It also provides an opportunity for St. Bede’s parishioners to become better acquainted with fellow parishioners and support a charity.

Barb Pettitt will be graduating with a Masters in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Ashley Sali graduated from Hybrid Education in Greater Atlanta (HEGA) on May 20.

Samantha Cannon graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security & Emergency Management with a minor in Applied Psychology.

Johnny Klein graduated from UGA with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and a minor in Sports Marketing. He is completing an internship this summer and will start a Master’s degree program in Advertising and Marketing in the fall. 

Mike Lampros graduated from Georgia State University in December with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Philosophy, Economics, and Politics.

Carmie McDonald graduated from Candler School of Theology.

Jo Marie Lyons is completing/graduating from her 8th 4-year cycle of co-mentoring the St. Bede's EfM group with Lynnsay Buehler.  This represents 32 years as a co-mentor.

McLemore's Musings

We hope you are enjoying a new feature in St. Bede's E-News - McLemore's Musings. Many of you have met the Rev'd Bill McLemore who has joined the St. Bede's community. Bill has been a priest for over 57 years and has served parishes all over the Episcopal Church. Bill is the former archivist of the Diocese of Atlanta and authored the 100th anniversary book on the history of the Diocese. Bill is also an artist and has used his artistic skills and sense of humor for many years to draw hundreds of cartoon that comically comment on life in the Episcopal Church. Each week we will share a cartoon here that Bill selects from his collection. Enjoy!

As violence escalates in Ukraine, over one million people have already fled the country — and the borders are flooded with many more people desperate to leave.

Almost all of them are women and children who have had to seek safety on their own, leaving their husbands, fathers, brothers and sons behind.

As this crisis continues to evolve, we are working with Anglican agencies and our other partners to provide humanitarian assistance, and urgently ask for your help.

Your emergency gift today will support our immediate response, providing cash, blankets, hygiene supplies and other needs as this crisis unfolds.

Our faith networks are currently on the ground in the border areas of Poland, Hungary and Romania, and we will continue to coordinate with them in order to help those who have been displaced. Specifically, our partner ACT Alliance is helping families on the Hungarian border, and our Anglican partners are mobilizing both an immediate and long-term response in Poland, Romania and Hungary.
