Hello St. Alphonsus,

Celebrate Sunday Mass at

St. Alphonsus!

In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is like seed that has been sown on good soil.

In explaining his use of parables, Jesus suggests that he uses parables to teach because the meanings of parables are not self-evident. The hearer must engage in some degree of reflection in order to comprehend the message of a parable. In this way, the medium—the parable—models the point of the parable of the sower. Those who are willing to engage themselves in the effort to understand will be rewarded by the discovery of the message and will bear fruit.

Reconciliation is available each Wednesday during Adoration from 6:30-7:30 PM and on Saturdays at 11 AM.

Daily prayer keeps you in good relationship with the LORD, and yourself.

Invite your friends/loved ones to Mass! Sunday Mass schedule in English is at 9 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM. Mass in Spanish is at 12:30 PM.

Bidding Farewell to our Kaitlin!

For three years Kaitlin Holyk has been one of the first points of contact for parishioners or visitors coming into the rectory or contacting the parish

office by phone or email. This is most especially the case for engaged couples or new parents excited about scheduling a wedding or baptism. Kaitlin's smile and pleasant disposition that has helped many comes from her faith and a caring heart.

Before she began working full time in the rectory office, Kaitlin had actually been around the parish for a long time. Anyone married here in the past several years has had contact with her as a wedding coordinator. But she actually grew up in the parish and is a proud alumna of AACA. One of her grade school claims to fame is that she won the design contest for the parish's Christmas card.

It is with sadness we bid farewell to Kaitlin as she moves on to pursue new ventures and life goals. She really enjoyed working here and readily admits she will miss working in the parish office and all the wonderful parishioners she has gotten to know. We wish her the best, and pray for success, happiness and growth.

Kaitlin's departure obviously creates an open position in the parish staff. Anyone wishing to apply can send a resume to the pastor, and find a job description on the Archdiocesan website

Auxiliary Bishop Mark Bartosic (July 19): "The Five-Fingered Catechism"

"I became Director of the Archdiocesan Jail Ministry in 2016. In spite of my lack of experience, I soon sensed a deep desire to distinguish Kolbe House among the hundreds of benevolent voices clamoring for detainees’ attention".

This session will explore how the Paschal Mystery changes our perspective on suffering, and how it can give birth to a sincere love for the souls hunger to be “free on the inside.”

The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation

Reading the Bible should bring us closer to Christ, but understanding it is often difficult. The good news is that you can understand the Bible, and The Bible

Timeline, a twenty-four-part Bible study, makes it easy.

Presenter Jeff Cavins shows you how fourteen of the

Bible’s narrative books tell the biblical story from

beginning to end and gives you the keys to understanding the amazing story woven throughout Scripture. In this revolutionary approach to Bible study, The Bible Timeline divides the Bible into twelve color-coded time periods that make it easier to follow its narrative thread. Using a unique color-coded chart, you will learn the major people, places, and events of the Bible and discover how they all come together to reveal the remarkable story of our faith.

St. Alphonsus will offer The Bible Timeline beginning on July 25th at 7 PM. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. For more information or to register, contact Brooks Robinson.
