Celebrate Sunday Mass at St. Alphonsus!

Hello St. Alphonsus,

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is also called Good Shepherd Sunday. In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus says he is the Good Shepherd who knows his sheep, and explains the difference between the good shepherd and one merely hired. The good shepherd knows the sheep and therefore acts out of love. For the Good Shepherd, this is never simply part of a job; this love-in-action is integral to his identity. The work of ecumenism is to restore unity among all Christians so that we form one flock under one shepherd, as God desires.

Daily prayer keeps you in good relationship with the LORD, and yourself.

Invite your friends/loved ones to Mass! Sunday Mass schedule is at 9 AM, 11 AM, and 5 PM in English. Mass in Spanish is at 12:30 PM.

April 21 Parish Bulletin

Earth Day is this Saturday, April 20!

In Celebration of Earth Day, Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce invites all for the Lakeview Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 20 from 10 AM-2 PM. Starting at the Southport Green Hub at 3410 N. Southport Ave., attendees are invited to volunteer in picking up litter and preserving the beauty of our side streets and socialize with likeminded members of the community. Volunteers can choose their own areas of the neighborhood or we can assign one to you. Gloves, litter pickers, and garbage bags will be provided by SSA 27.

If you have technology to recycle, there will be a vehicle in our main parish parking lot off Oakdale Ave. Did you know that electronic waste contributes 70% of toxic waste in the US? Bring your old electronics to the Alphonsus Academy parking lot and work together with SSA 27 and Newtech E-scrap Recycling Inc for responsible electronics recycling. Commonly recyclable items include computer equipment, personal electronics, office equipment and industrial equipment. See here for a complete guide on acceptable items for tech recycling.

Confessions are heard Saturdays at 11 AM and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.

We pray for all in attendance at the Illinois March for Life and especially for the many lives lost and affected by abortion. May Almighty God and the Blessed Virgin bring peace, healing and comfort to all afflicted.

Film and Culture Series

With the rise of streaming services and smartphones as entertainment devices, movies have lost their communal and cultural significance, and become just another channel for isolated, click-baity entertainment. In this series, Ross Douthat presents a comprehensive understanding for the causes of decline, why we should care, and what we can do to reclaim the cultural common ground that film has the power to provide. athenaeumcenter.org/watch/film-and-culture-series-season-01/

Fore the Kids Golf Outing- Monday, June 24

Fore the Kids is the annual golf outing benefitting the Archdiocese of Chicago's Catholic schools! Proceeds from Fore the Kids benefit emergency tuition assistance and academic innovation. These two vital areas provide scholarships to students in need and allow us to engage in the diagnostic tools and academic coaching to better serve our students.

When you support Catholic schools, you invest in future generations who will carry forward the values of faith, service, and integrity in an increasingly complex world. It strengthens communities, nurtures future leaders, and upholds the mission of creating a more just and compassionate society.

Please join us for a fun day of golf and more importantly to support and celebrate our incredible Catholic schools.
