Mr. Sorrels Receives the Project Excellence Award

Congratulations to Andrew Sorrels, Springboro Intermediate math teacher, on being recognized as a Project Excellence Award winner for Springboro Schools. The Project Excellence Committee of the Area Progress Council (APC) of Warren County, Inc. seeks to recognize and honor excellent teachers in Warren County. Community members in Springboro were given the opportunity to nominate educators in the district for the Project Excellence Award.

Congratulations Mr. Sorrels! You are a fantastic educator, and you are so very deserving of this award! We are so proud of you!

Ohio State Test

Students have completed the ELA state test! Next week, students will complete the Math portion of the state test. Below are our testing days:

Tuesday and Thursday: Teams Engage and Prepare

Wednesday and Friday: Teams Inspire and Challenge

Please make sure your child is here on time, especially on their testing day. Students report to their testing location at 7:30, by 7:40, testing procedures have already started, therefore we cannot allow students in a testing location after 7:40.

Also, it is important that your child is getting a good nights rest and eating a well balanced breakfast to help fuel their minds and bodies. This is a good habit to get into even when it isn't testing season! Please continue to encourage your child to take these assessments seriously by taking their time and putting forth their full effort.

Spirit Wear

Our PTO is offering one more chance to purchase WE Are Panthers spirit wear. Order HERE, the purchase window closes on May 2nd.

Springboro Schools invites you to participate in this Special Education Family Survey. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in partnership with the Ohio State University, has selected Springboro Schools to participate in this year’s survey. Only the parents or caregivers of a child receiving special education services are eligible to participate. The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

You can access the survey via this link: CETE Ohio Family Survey

Additionally, in an effort to receive adequate representation of the perspective of all families, including our minority populations, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has provided this VIDEO.

This CETE Ohio Family Survey will be open until May 7, 2024.

News from the Fox Den

Mrs. Fox's April Fox Den focuses on kindness. Students will understand that in order to be kind, they must be mindful of what is going on around them. Mrs. Fox will also discuss the fact that kindness improves our mood and allows us to feel connected to others. Lastly, the students will be encouraged to submit pictures to Mrs. Fox showing their acts of kindness. These can be sent to sfox@springboro.org. The pictures will then be shown during lunch periods. Please encourage your child to show some kindness and participate!

Car Riders

Student Drop Off in the Mornings

Springboro Intermediate opens at 6:45am. If your child arrives between 6:45 - 7:19, they will report to the cafeteria. At 7:20, students will be released from the cafeteria to their lockers. All students being dropped off will enter the building through the main entrance. Please review our Traffic flow map for guidance on drop off procedures.

Student Pick Up in the Afternoons

Students will be dismissed at 2:20 p.m. All students will exit the building using various doors that face 741. Cars are asked to park in the shoulder on 741 in front of the building and wait for their child. Do NOT park in the side parking lot to pick up your child.

To help alleviate traffic back ups, it is important that we follow these traffic guidelines.

  1. When picking up your child, please pull all the way down to the end of the sidewalk. When the person in front of you leaves, please pull up to allow others in behind you.
  2. If you get to the pickup line and it is full, please continue driving south on 741 and turn right on Elmwood, make another right on Lookout and then another right on Mill. Continue to make this loop until there is space open in front of SI.

Office Hours

Springboro Intermediate office is open Monday - Friday, 7:00a.m. - 3:00p.m.

Lunch Information

Lunch payments may be made on-line through PaySchools Central. Cash or check (payable Springboro Intermediate) is also accepted. Free and reduced lunch applications are also available online. Check out the monthly lunch menu here.

Water Bottles

Water fountains are available throughout the school building, but students can also bring a water bottle and carry it with them throughout the school day. There are also 3 water refill stations throughout the building for students to refill their bottles.

Please ensure your child's water bottle has a screw on lid, no straws and water only.

Student Handbook

All students will receive a student handbook on their first day. The students should carry this handbook with them to all classes and use this to write their homework assignments in. This should also be used a resource for the schools expectations and districts code of conduct. If lost, students can repurchase a book in the main office for $3.05. You can also view a copy of the digital version HERE.

If you believe your child is being bullied, harassed, or you suspect any type of suspicious behavior, contact your child’s principal or report the incident through our Student Safety Reporting System.
