Prevent Child Abuse: Community Action
Join The Watchful Shepherd this April!
April marks National Child Abuse Prevention Month, emphasizing the essential role families and communities have in shielding children from harm. By enhancing awareness, offering support services, and advocating for education and resources, communities become pivotal in safeguarding children and aiding families in times of crisis.
Join us at The Watchful Shepherd this April as we champion the cause of preventing child abuse. Whether it's through donating, displaying a pinwheel in your yard, sharing our social media content, wearing blue on April 4th, or simply mentioning our organization in conversations with your peers, every small action is deeply valued and contributes to our overarching mission of safeguarding children.

Honoring Those who Protect & Serve!
The Watchful Shepherd USA Guardian Award is presented to men and women who EMBODY the mission of protecting children, and other at-risk individuals, from domestic violence and abuse. These individuals have devoted time, influence, and resources unselfishly; many times, at great cost to themselves, for the advancement of the Watchful Shepherd mission and the protection of those who need it most. The Watchful Shepherd Guardian is a rare award honoring those who have exemplified selfless leadership in our community for our humanitarian cause.

As one reads through the description, it becomes evident why Judge Traci L. McDonald was honored as a Guardian Recipient. For years, the Honorable Judge Traci has been a relentless advocate for children, consistently standing at the forefront of their cause. Her unwavering support for The Watchful Shepherd is invaluable, and we are truly blessed to have such an exceptional ambassador in her.

We Give Back to our Community!
In March, the Watchful Shepherd team had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Power of the Purse event hosted by the United Way of Washington County. This event, dedicated to supporting the United Wayβs Community Impact Fund, aims to empower women and children through its proceeds. We at The Watchful Shepherd are deeply appreciative of our partnership with esteemed organizations like the United Way of Washington County, who share our commitment to improving the lives of children.

Plant a Pinwheel: A Call for Community Action!
Help a Child in Need this Month!
The blue pinwheel symbolizes the essence of a healthy, joyful, and complete childhood that every child should experience. In various areas, community partners will organize pinwheel gardens, which will be showcased throughout April. These gardens serve as a visual representation of the commitment to fostering supportive environments for children.
