Dear Partner in Ministry,

As I write this newsletter, students are taking a much-needed spring break rest. As they have reminded me recently, their lives are busy and full, not just during midterms and finals, but throughout the semester! As we accompany young adults on campus, our vision is to shape a community where they can show up just as they are, with all of who they are, in the midst of the ups and downs of academic life.

We've been reflecting intentionally on how we do this and especially how we articulate this practice of unconditional, radical hospitality as we renew our RIC welcome statement. The students have had deep and meaningful conversations about what it means to be a community exploring faith and life together from many diverse experiences. We look forward to completing our updated welcome statement this semester!

Alongside this work, we continue to share Sunday dinners, worship together, and nurture student leadership in the community. So far this semester we've welcomed guest speakers from New Beginnings Worshipping Community and Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp. We celebrated Reconciling in Christ Sunday and entered into the forty days of the Lenten season.

As we prepare for Holy Week, Easter, and the remainder of the spring semester, we give thanks to you, our faithful partners in ministry, for your prayers, financial gifts, and support. Thank you!

Grace and peace,

Pr. Monica

WHAT'S HAPPENING @LECM

2024 Winter Retreat

In February, LECM joined students and leaders from LuMin and Kindred Methodist Campus Ministries in Fort Collins, as well as Bread + Belonging in Boulder for a weekend retreat at Urban Servant Corps in Denver! We learned about the work of USC partner agencies to support unhoused communities, worshipped at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, and enjoyed time hanging out with new and old friends!

Campus Ministry Sunday

On February 11 five of our students preached on the Transfiguration of Jesus in local congregations. After a month of bible study, sermon workshops, and preparation, they shared their insights on the good news in this story with many of you! Thank you to all the congregations that hosted our student preachers!
