Spring Productions Have Sprung!

Dear TCA+A Family,

TCA+A has created new funding opportunities to support our greatest resource - OUR FACULTY! Because both FWAFA and TeSA are charter schools, we do not receive as much funding as a traditional school district. In fact, our schools receive close to $700 less per student each year than a Texas independent school district receives. This means we miss out on more than $650,000 each year in funding that could go directly to teachers.

Funds raised will go straight to our faculty and will be awarded in the fall of 2022. In time, we hope this pool will grow, allowing TCA+A to offer monetary awards for teachers celebrating their 5, 10, and 15+ anniversaries with our schools. Attracting and retaining top talent is our priority.

If each of our families donated $250 per household, our teachers could see a gift of $3,000! With teacher appreciation week right around the corner – we can’t think of a better time to give!

Juror Awards & Comments at 5:30PM

Visit the FWAFA gallery between April 19-May 6 to view our annual Juried Art Show. This exhibition features original artwork created by 3rd-12th grade FWAFA art students. Awards for excellence are presented in elementary, middle, and high school divisions.

This year, our guest juror is Adam Fung. Adam is an Associate Professor of Art at Texas Christian University and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame. He uses painting to call attention to subjects such as climate change, natural landscape and patterns that play a role in the make up of our surroundings, whether it’s the environment or the universe. His paintings can be found in public collections at Microsoft, South Bend Museum of Art, and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermilab, as well as numerous private collections. We are thrilled to have Adam serve as our juror this year and bring his art expertise to our event!

Bloom is a mixed repertory performance featuring FWAFA’s auditioned student dance companies: Academy Dance Company, Academy Dance Company Trainees, Academy Dance Company II, and Academy Junior Dance Company. This concert includes performances by advanced dancers in elementary, middle, and high school, grades 4-12.

Bloom features a variety of styles of dance with captivating works by faculty, guest, and student choreographers. Come join us and see our dancers bring the FWAFA stage to life!

Guest Choreographers include Kasi Kirkpatrick (commercial dance choreographer and performer, Los Angeles) and Candace Ratliff (professional dance artist and educator, Houston and Fort Worth).

TeSA Spring Performances

This year, all performances will be held at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, with unlimited seating. Admission is FREE! Specific dates and times are listed below and more info will be shared in grade-specific newsletters.
