Reflecting on the CFP Experience

As we mark the 70th anniversary of the APSA Congressional Fellowship Program, we are hoping to collect reflections on the impact of the fellowship and the insights it has imparted.

A symposium celebrating the 65th anniversary of the program was published in PS and is available here. We welcome reflections from recent Fellows on their experiences through the current political climate and recent turbulence, as well as reflections from earlier Fellows on how their experience has shaped their careers or approach to research, teaching, or public engagement. If you are interested in contributing a reflection, please email cfp@apsanet.org.

Congratulations to the 2023-2024 APSA Congressional Fellows (CFP)

APSA CFP Fellows at RAND

The APSA Congressional Fellowship Program has been excited to work with the 2023-2024 fellowship class! Fellows come from nine sponsoring organizations and include four APSA-sponsored political science fellows and two APSA-sponsored journalism fellows.

This year, we have nine fellows working in the House of Representatives, twelve fellows working in the Senate, and seven fellows in executive branch or other placements. Fellows have been enjoying the Spring Seminar Series, including a visit to RAND and a talk on Canadian politics to prepare for the upcoming exchange with the Canadian Parliamentary Internship Programme—the fiftieth anniversary of that exchange! Fellows are also looking forward to a day trip to Richmond to learn more about state politics and the Virginia General Assembly, as well as our usual closing reception in July.
