Spring Cleaning

Now that the weather is getting nicer, it's time to clean up the winter mess! Spring Lake Township has some resources to help residents properly, safely, and conveniently dispose of many items.

Dumpster Day - Saturday, May 11, 8am to noon. Township and Village residents are invited to participate in Dumpster Day at the DPW Building, 16747 150th Ave. More information is below.

Burn Day - On Saturday, May 18, Township residents can participate in Burn Day if they have a permit. Only brush may be burned. Residents can obtain a permit at the Township offices or the application and payment can be mailed to the Township. Burn permits are valid for the calendar year, so those who have a permit from our previous Burn Day are still permitted to participate. Burning is not allowed within 1400 feet of the Village, the City of Ferrysburg, or the City of Norton Shores.

Medication Disposal - Spring Lake Township provides a bin for dropping off unwanted or expired medications at Fire Station #1, 106 N. Fruitport Rd. The bin in the lobby is available 8am to 5pm on weekdays. Those dropping off should remove pills from the bottles and place them in a plastic bag. Liquids or gels can be left in their original containers, but we ask that you remove or black out any labels. Thank you to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department for handling disposal!

Household Hazardous Waste - Ottawa County operates several environmental sustainability centers, where household hazardous waste can be safely disposed of. Visit their website for more information.
