The Mobile Unit is Hitting the Road!

You read that right! The Buffalo Trace District Health Department Mobile Unit will be making stops this month to provide services. The services that will be provided are:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine
  • Flu Vaccine
  • Tdap Vaccines
  • Blood Pressure Checks
  • Biometric Screening


Locations:

  • Mayslick Mill Friday, April 14th, 8:00 AM-1:00 PM
  • Tractor Supply Tuesday, April 18th, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM

WIC Wants You!

The WIC program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health care, at no cost. So, who is eligible for the WIC program?

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postpartum
  • Any child under 5 years of age

Another benefit is going to the Farmers Market. Eligible WIC participants are issued Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons in addition to their regular WIC benefits. These coupons can be used to buy eligible foods from, Farmers' Markets that have been approved by the state agency to accept FMNP coupons.


If you or someone you know is interested in joining WIC talk with your local Health Department or go to Kentucky WIC for detailed application information.

Mason County Health Coalition Meeting

The Mason County Health Coalition will be holding a meeting on Monday, April 24th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Room of the Buffalo Trace District Health Department.

Become a Vaccine Champion!

Congratulations to the "Become a Vaccine Champion" contest winners from the 10th region! Elizabeth Tucker was the state's overall second-place winner and was also recognized for her poster entry by Mia Neely! For the brochure portion, Kaylee Caudill was recognized! Thank you for all of your hard work! We also want to thank the Kentucky Department of Health and KHSAA for hosting a wonderful event!

  • Ensure the child restraint is properly installed in the vehicle.
  • Ensure the child is properly secured in the child restraint.
