We are delighted to share our spring newsletter featuring the latest happenings at the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. The Club is buzzing with activity, and we can't wait to share some of the highlights with you!


We are particularly excited to share that the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford has been selected as a finalist for an Impact Fairfield County Grant. If selected, the grant award would provide transformational funding to continue to expand our resources and programming dedicated to youth mental health. Being considered for such a prestigious grant within our community is truly an honor, and we are grateful for the recognition.

Meet the Counselor: Sedera Jones, Program Director 

Our “Meet the Counselor” series highlights the amazing individuals who make a difference at the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. Meet Sedera Jones, our dedicated Program Director with an impressive 22 years of experience at the Club. Club Hosts Fair to Help Teens Explore Local Jobs, Internships, and Scholarships

This month, the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford proudly partnered with Stamford Cradle to Career to host a successful Teen Fair. Over 200 teens had the opportunity to explore job and internship opportunities, discover scholarships available at local colleges and universities, and gain insights into various programs and services available to them. We are proud to reinforce our commitment to academic enrichment and career development to Stamford’s most historically underserved youth. Thank you to all the partner organizations who attended!  

Rock Climbing Wall Student Unveiling

Providing access to opportunities is one of the fundamental ways the Club helps create bright futures by broadening student perspectives, igniting curiosity, and fostering personal growth. Watch the video of the wall’s unveiling here.

“We Got Next” Middle School All-Star Game

Our 1st Annual “We Got Next” Middle School All-Star Games was a day filled with excitement and community spirit. Basketball continues to be an integral part of our program, with over 200 students ages 13+ participating in our recreational leagues and programs. Huge shoutout to all the incredible players who showcased their skills on the court! 

Yerwood Center Offering Weekly Dance Instruction

K-3 Students at our Yerwood Center now have the opportunity to participate in a new dance program. The program focuses not only on teaching students the fundamentals of dance and choreography but also on expressing themselves through movement and embracing a healthy, active lifestyle.

Screening and Conversation of “The Young Vote”

With the 2024 presidential election on the horizon, the Club partnered with the Fairfield County Community Foundation to coordinate a screening of "The Young Vote," a thought-provoking documentary that followed a diverse group of students and activists during the 2020 election. After the screenings, attendees explored young people's perceptions of voting and civic engagement via an insightful panel discussion featuring filmmaker Diane Robinson.

Ready, set, run for a cause! Join over 60 corporate teams and 1,500 runners and walkers for the Boys & Girls Club Annual Corporate 5K on Wednesday, May 15, at Mill River Park.

City Chic Reimagined - Thank You for Your Support!

A huge THANK YOU to our community of 300+ individuals and organizations who supported our annual fundraising gala, City Chic Reimagined, by attending in person or bidding in our online auction. Your generous support helped us raise critical funds to support and empower Stamford’s most historically underserved youth. 


Attendees were dazzled by performances from our youth, inspired by stories from current and former Club members, and raised their paddles to support the Club. We also honored The Ashforth Company and US Chemicals for their incredible legacy of support to the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
