Heart-Wired

For the past week I have been wearing a little device attached to the upper left side of my chest to record my heart activity. (Don’t worry, I am fine.) This will give my cardiologist a base line, a two week snapshot of my heart function. I hope it reveals some compassion hidden in there.

I wonder what the world would be like if we all wore a compassion monitor. I guess this is what the Dharma is designed to do; give us feedback on the state of our heart. When we practice our meditations, we immediately know when our bodhicitta (the heart/mind link) is disturbed or evoked. Nice to have an onboard reminder.

May all beings be reminded of their innate compassion and do the things necessary to remove obstacles to its expression.

Much Love,

We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous.

We experience joy in the actual act of giving something.

And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given."
