Daffy Duck is Flying High
Having won thirteen of their last sixteen points, the Pin Tails have migrated north to first place in the season’s second half race and also into second place for the league championship title. Leading the way once again were Super Dave Connally 652(265,234) and “where’s my $5?“ Rich Plant 633(223,225). Bill Doody’s 632(224,237) and Bret Sigillo’s 618(217,201,200) series helped the Wise Guys take three and stay in the duck hunt, and the Pocket Pounders still have a shot at defending their title thanks to Rich Shanley’s 612(244,200) and Bob Farrell’s 563(205,244) series. Other top scores from last week are: John Lanoue -579(200,217), Ron Hawkins -564, David Logue -556(201), Steve Homewood -541, Jim Sieberkrob -533. Harry Shoudy -529(202), Rich Wantuck -521, Jack D’Ambrosio -518, Bob Paterson -516, Zeke Mendoza -516, Dennis Mancinelli -515, Chip Hartman -509, and Ed Wolf -200.

Cape Fear Flyfishers
The Cape Fear Flyfishers meet every third Wednesday (except summers) at 6:15 PM at the St. James Community Center. Our next meeting on March 15 promises a great presentation from Captain Jon Huf, a long time international and US guide. He will share his insights into striper fishing on the Cape Fear right near Wilmington where he has had impressive results. He’ll also share his reds fishing experience and local Tarpon. This promises to be an exciting motivation for local fly fishing. Weather permitting, we will practice fly casting in the ponds next to the center at 5:00 PM. Bring your gear or borrow one of the instructor’s many rods. We welcome anyone new to the area or
new to fly fishing. Click here for our website. Opportunities abound for local fishing or fishing trips sponsored by the club.

St. James Ping Pong Club to Host Brunswick County Senior Gator Games
Once again, our club will be hosting the 2023 Gator Games Table Tennis Event. This year it will be held on April 14 at 9AM at the St. James Community Center. You do NOT need to be a member of the Ping Pong Club to participate in the Brunswick County Games.
Registration for all Gator Games and Silver Arts began on February 1st. You can register until March 15 here.
The St. James Community Center has information packets at the front entry information racks. The Ping Pong Club will also have extra paper copies of the registration form if you’d like to pick some up during their play sessions. We normally average around 20 players per session and we meet on Mondays at 6:00PM and Wednesdays at 3PM. Players of all levels are welcome. Stop in on April 14 to cheer on participants, or stop anytime the club plays and see what it’s all about.
