St. James Men's Bowling League

DYNAMIC DUOS

Never despair, here they come to save the day! With the top six teams all bunched together, it was time for the power couples to step up their games and provide some separation. The Pin Tails, led by Dave Connally -636(197,203,236) and Rich Plant -628(215,232,181) shut out the Pocket Pounders and took sole possession of first place. Bret Sigillo’s evening’s best 685 series(199,222,264) and Bill Doody’s 601(248) powered the Wise Guys over F Troop and into fourth place. Ken Rienth’s pinpoint accuracy -627(214,191,222) and Art Soloman’s sneaky, deceptive speed ball -519(189,180,150) enabled the Lucky Strikes to shut out the brumating Alley Gators. And finally, team Livin’ On A Spare doubled their duos strategy (a.k.a. the team approach) moving into second place with only a two pin loss to the Nor’easters keeping them out of a tie for first place.

Other top scores from last week are: Rich Wantuck -582(248), John Lanoue -570(207), Jim Sieberkrob -560(205), Joe Stiene -555(204), Ron Hawkins -544, Rich Baytosh -537. Ken Updike -530, Jack D’Ambrosio -524, Chip Hartman -520, Tom Green -517, Dick Schondelmeier -515, Hugh McKean -510, David Logue -505, and Ron Gugliotti -208.

St. James Bocce League

The 2022 St James Bocce Ladder came to an end recently with a tournament for the championship between the top 8 players. Bob Paterson won the championship in the final game with Jerry Klawitter. The top eight players on the ladder were Bob Paterson, Chris Agnello, Ed Boyers, Keith Charlesworth, Jerry Klawitter, Monika Charlesworth, Nat Scaccianoce and Rob Faulkner.

Sign-ups are open for the 2023 St. James Bocce Ladder. The ladder is a competitive list of players who challenge each other to matches with the goal of rising to the top of the list. At the end of the ladder the top player will be named, and a tournament will be help amongst the top players for the championship. The ladder will start March 14th and end late October. Sign-ups are also open for the Spring League that will begin mid-March and end in mid-November. Players will be assigned to teams that play each other once a week ending

in a tournament for the championship. Players of all skill levels are invited to play on Saturday mornings during open play at Waterway Park from 10AM-noon. This is a great opportunity to try out Bocce if you have never played or wish to polish your skills. To sign-up for the ladder, league or for general questions email us here.
