Our Mission: Offering compassionate, faith-based recovery services to mothers and their children.
A Special Thank You from our New Executive Director
With 2019 being my first Thanksgiving as Executive Director of Sojourner House, I want to express my gratitude for being trusted to lead this wonderful organization.

My professional background is in the human service field in Pittsburgh, so I have been familiar with Sojourner House's mission for many years. Sojourner House has been in existence since 1991. I want to express my gratitude to all of the people currently working within the Sojourner House organization, and to those who led the organization before me. Our services have been, and will continue to be needed. Staff and volunteers are indispensable to any organization, but most especially to an organization such as ours that directly addresses the challenging emotion and social battles in the struggle against the disease of addiction. Thanks to our exemplary staff, volunteers, donors, and other friends, well over 1,000 mothers and their children have been supported.

I want to express my gratitude  to all of those who support our families each and every year. I would love to learn more about our ever-growing support system, including those of you reading this letter. Please consider reaching out to me at dbenjamin@sjhpa.org.    Have a blessed Thanksgiving, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Save the Date for the 16th Annual Victorian Tea
Sojourner House will host its 16th Annual Victorian Tea on Sunday, April 19, 2020, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Omni William Penn Hotel. A social hour will take place from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Victorian Tea is an important awareness event and fundraiser that brings together hundreds of individuals: many mothers, daughters, fathers, and sons, along with corporate, community, and church-based friends. Attendees will enjoy a traditional tea, silent auction and raffle, while learning about the award-winning work of Sojourner House, and hear the inspiring stories of the families who have lived there.

Please help us celebrate the successes of our families, and support us as we continue our fight to keep families together so they can become healthy, productive citizens of our community. Tickets will be for sale online in January 2020. Stay tuned for more info to come.
