New York State My Brother's Keeper: Changing the Narrative

2024 New York State My Brother's Keeper Symposium

Anael Alston

Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,

The New York State Education Department will host the 2024 New York State My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Symposium on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Albany. Hundreds of students, educators, and leaders from across the state will gather for this event on the MBK initiative to help boys and young men of color - and all students - realize their full potential.

Board of Regents Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. and Commissioner Betty A. Rosa will speak as part of the event's welcome session. We are also honored to have award-winning journalist Cheryl Wills join us and deliver remarks. Jemal King, professional speaker, entrepreneur, and author of 9 to 5 Millionaire, will engage participants with an inspiring keynote address. Lastly, we are fortunate to have some of the most prominent and respected names in education and youth development in attendance who will empower participants to meet the needs of our diverse student body here in New York State.
