Vacation Bible School
is coming!

Vacation Bible School is more than a great summer experience for children. It’s the perfect summer opportunity for youth and adults to have an awesome time volunteering too. It's not to early to sign up.

If you’re a parent, now’s the time to sign up your child (or children) for our fun and unforgettable VBS program. If you’re a teen (6-12 grade) or an adult (with or without kids), it’s also a great time to help us make this the best VBS ever – and earn service hours too!

This year’s theme is Hero Hotline: Called Together to Serve God! You can go here to learn more.

Here’s the link to our registration form (for students AND volunteers). Please fill it out and return it to Ashlee Ligon, either in person or by email – aligon@doers.org.
Our Spring Luncheon is
next Sunday, May 7

The Legacy Giving Committee is delighted to invite parishioners 70+ (or so) to a special Spring Luncheon in celebration and gratitude for you.

Please join us Sunday, May 7, at 12:15 in Valentine Hall (that’s right after the 11:15 am service).

Please RSVP by this Sunday, April 30 to Ben Ellis at bellis@doers.org or by calling Ben
(804) 355-1779, ext. 365. Thank you!
Adult Confirmation
Sunday, May 21

All adults interested in being confirmed when the bishop visits on Sunday, May 21st, please contact Blake at bsinger@doers.org.
Senior Blessing
Sunday, May 21

All high school seniors are invited to the Senior Blessing on Sunday, May 21, during the 9 am service. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Katie at youth@doers.org

Save the Date!

Our next Young Family Social will be Saturday, May 13 from 4-6 pm at the home of Corrine and Pierce Lamberson (6733 Stuart Avenue).
Everyone is sure to have fun!

St. James’s will provide snacks, water, and juice. Parents are welcome to bring a favorite adult beverage if they wish. These socials are for any St. James family with children living at home.

Wednesday Night Dinner

Come for the fellowship and food. There's nothing better than a meal cooked by our food team. Dinner begins at 5:30 pm in Valentine Hall.

We will put the menu in our Tuesday email and also post it on social media.

The suggested donation is $5 per person, with a $20 maximum per family.

We’re looking to grow
our LiveStream Team.

No experience or special skills required.

We now have a crew of trained people who create the live-streams of our Sunday services and other worship events – but we’d love to have some volunteers to help us make things run even better.

You don’t need any special skills to join the Video Squad, just enthusiasm and reliability. Over time, you’ll learn how we create our live-streams and you’ll have the satisfaction of being part of an important ministry here at St. James’s.

If you think you’d like to help out, call Jay Sandusky, Director of Communications, at 804.355.1779, ext 344 or write to him at jsandusky@doers.org.
Beginning on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 28)
we’ll be switching to our Summer Worship Schedule.

If it looks familiar, that’s because it’s the Summer schedule we had prior to the pandemic – worship at 8 am and 10 am, with fellowship between the services – but with more outdoor options. We look forward to worshiping and gathering with you all Summer long.
Here are the names of those we're remembering in our prayers this week.

We do our best to keep this list current, but if you want your name added or removed, please email Mary Brown at mbrown@doers.org or call her at 804-355-1779 ext. 313
