The City of Charleston and the CSO are thrilled to continue its celebration of the arts with a special free-to-attend Independence Day Weekend concert at “The Joe” – home of the Charleston RiverDogs – on the evening of Friday, June 30, 2023 at 8:00pm. Experience a captivating evening under the stars with your Charleston Symphony and enjoy a delightful blend of patriotic melodies and cherished classical favorites.
Joining the Charleston Symphony is special guest artist, Javetta Campbell. The concert will be followed by fireworks, generously supported by The Charleston Place.
The CSO will perform a program featuring patriotic music by John Stafford Smith, Sousa, a salute to the Armed Forces, and pops favorites by Tchaikovsky and others! Javetta Campbell will perform a selection of popular songs and Broadway showtunes and Mayor Tecklenburg will narrate Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland.
The event is free to attend,
but tickets must be reserved in advance.
