We know not everyone makes it to the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship, but we know a couple of you reading this did.  Houston was a great host for thousands of FIRSTers from all over the world (just look at that GIF!), and next week we're giving back to the teams down that way who were hit by Hurricane Harvey.  Read on!
Are you getting the right newsletter?

We know that FIRST Tech Challenge teams have unique needs in their robot parts, so we're running a special FTC-focused newsletter from now until somewhere around Super Regionals in the early spring.  If you're receiving this, we think you're in the right place...but if we're thinking wrong, click one of the links below.  It'll take you to our FTC landing page, but it'll also update our records.

I don't want the FTC-focused newsletter, send me the one aimed at larger robots.

Special Hurricane Harvey Relief Event September 28

The devastation from Hurricane Harvey was exceptionally hard for a lot of FIRSTers that filled the George R Brown Convention Center not all that long ago.   FIRST in Texas created the Harvey Fund to offer grants to help sustain FIRST programs in southern and central Texas areas that were hit by this massive hurricane.

On Thursday, September 28th, AndyMark will donate 30% of all sales to the Harvey Fund.  We hope to ensure nobody has to choose between keeping their FIRST program going this season and other essential needs as the area recovers.

The only two things that won't count towards the donation tally: tax, and gift certificates.  Every other part we sell, big or small, counts.  We hope you'll start getting your list together now for the big day next Thursday!
Thinking Mecanum Wheels for FIRST RELIC RECOVERY?

We keep our finger on the pulse of FTC teams, and we know a fair number of teams are considering mecanum wheels.  We've been making these wheels for competition robots for years, and we see the appeal of strafing on a crowded field this year.

We offer two wheels that are of interest to FTC teams: the 4" Standard Mecanum, which is good for lighter robots under 50 pounds, and the 4" HD Mecanum, which is robust enough to see duty even on a far heavier FIRST Robotics Competition robot.  The former can be driven using a Nub, while the latter will need a Wheel Conversion Plate as well to adapt to the smaller bolt circle.

To work effectively, each of the four wheels must be powered independently. You can achieve this a few different ways, including our PicoBox Uno and PicoBox MEO gearboxes and the new NeveRest Sport planetary gearbox.  If your team has more programmers than mechanical designers, our TileRunner Mecanum drive system is another fast way to get this drive system up and running.
Style and Profile with Relic T-Shirts

We've done more than a few T-shirts over the years, and this spring we did our first shirt themed after a  FIRST Robotics Competition game with our Steam Punk T-shirt.  We aren't going to leave FTC out in the cold though!  Our new Relic T-shirt is super comfy and the perfect thing to wear while your team T-shirt is in the laundry hamper.
