  • Delivered 95 care packages across the region. Care packages provide resources, care, and comfort items to parents.

Social Worker Spotlight
March is Social Work Month, a time to celebrate the great profession of social work. This year we celebrate Alicia Acosta, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working at Rady Children’s Hospital for nearly 50 years.  
Alicia’s clinical work includes providing crisis intervention, psychosocial and bereavement support throughout a family’s journey in the NICU. Alicia has worked with thousands of NICU families guiding and supporting them through the most difficult and frightening times of their lives. Alicia is an exceptional advocate for her families and calls upon Miracle Babies frequently to meet the unique needs of a NICU parent.

Happy 3rd Birthday Bali! Bali "Bear" was born on 3/2/2020 and diagnosed with Tracheoesophageal Fistula and Esophageal Atresia. Miracle Babies Bali spent her first 102 days in the NICU.
Bali and her family have a very special connection to Miracle Babies and have been supporting our cause even before Bali was born. Bali's grandmother, Laketa is a NICU nurse and has been volunteering with Miracle Babies with for several years.
Miracle Babies first met Bali's mom at our last Miracle Hour pre-COVID just days after baby Bali was born. Bali Bears is joining forces with UCSD at this year's 5K. You can support babies like Bali by joining or donating to her 5K team.
Meet Jody Neels! Jody, a San Diego native and mother of 4. Jody has always been involved in working in her community and volunteering at her children's sporting events and school. When her eldest was in high school, she was inspired to start a chapter of TVIA (Teen Volunteers in Action). She has served on the national board for TVIA and is also involved with her daughters in NCL Seaside.
Most recently Jody has been volunteering daily in the Miracle Babies office bringing her specialized skill sets in evaluating systems. Jody's secret love for babies is met with all our daily visitors. Thank you, Jody!
