We are excited to announce the formation of the Multi-District Lehigh Valley Pocono Library Partnership, a partnership of 26 library outlets across Carbon County, Lehigh County, Monroe County, and Northampton County. These public libraries now directly share physical resources, such as books, DVDs, CDs, and other library materials.
Together, thanks to partnerships with all of our partner libraries, we’re proud to offer our patrons unprecedented access to an incredible number of items—more than 1.4 MILLION—from across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. We can’t wait to see what the future holds and which libraries we’ll begin resource sharing with next!

One of our main goals as a library is to find ways for our patrons to quickly and easily access the items they want. Because every library can't own every title, the only way to do this is to create partnerships with other libraries. Interlibrary loan is a great option because it allows us to reach out across the country to find the right item, but it can take weeks for those requests to be filled since the items need to be shipped from the owning library.
By expanding our local partnerships, we're able to use our internal delivery network to access library materials from 26 library outlets across the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Now, our patrons can access many of the titles they're looking for in just a few days. It's also a great option for book clubs because they can access many more copies of popular titles.
