Thursday, May 30, 2024

6 pm Light Refreshments - Lecture 7-8 pm

Our 2024 Speaker Series gets underway with the launch of a new book on an indelible symbol of Plymouth's beginnings, Mayflower II. Join Richard Stone, author of Project Mayflower: Building & Sailing a 17th Century Replica and encounter the improbable story of the famous ship's creation and high-profile voyage across the Atlantic.

Those behind the idea had no plans, no crew, and no money, only a grand vision to thank America for its World War II sacrifices. Stone, a former television executive, has researched in captivating detail the behind-the-scenes story of the Mayflower II venture in this new publication featuring a forward by Plymouth historian James W. Baker.

Reservations recommended; tickets $10 each/$5 museum members available online. Doors open at 6 pm for refreshments; lecture and book signing 7-8 pm.

Project Mayflower is published by Globe Pequot/Lyons Press. Copies of the book available online. For more information on Pilgrim Hall Museum's Speaker Series, visit pilgrimhall.org or contact us at membership@pilgrimhall.org, 508-746-1620, ext. 3.
