I often think springtime is a metaphor for new life. An opportunity to grow and bloom in many ways. I also believe there is a great deal of pressure for us to embrace a positive outlook on springtime. A change in seasons has a significant impact on our mental health. Sometimes change can feel like an exciting opportunity, while at other moments it may cause feelings of anxiety and instability. The longer days of sunlight are certainly a welcome part of this change in season. And this often affects our routine just enough that it can create anxiety....

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! We look forward to celebrating your mental health with you all month long. Be sure to follow CKG on Instagram and Facebook for self-care tips, mindfulness activities, social media take overs and more!



Save the Date: Community Day is on Tuesday, May 14 from 9-12pm at the CKG office. Purpose Espresso coffee truck on-site, raffles, self-care stations, swag, and more! A gentle yoga class, taught by CKG's own Clair Norman, will be offered at 8:30am before Community Day officially begins at 9, bring your own mat.   • CKG participated in Collegiate's 8th grade Wellness Retreat on March 27th. We shared the CKG story, created coping skills keychains, provided stress awareness journals, and guided them in a mindfulness activity. Thanks for having us, Collegiate!


  • CKG welcomes intern Bailey Staton! Bailey is a rising senior at Longwood University, double majoring in Criminal Justice and Sociology. She looks forward to her internship where she can work toward "removing the stigma and stereotyping that currently surround those that struggle with mental health..."


  • Trinity's SpeakUp Club recently spent time writing kindness messages with this survey result: A recent CKG survey showed that 84% of respondents listen to music when they feel anxious.


  • Support CKG by dining at the Short Pump Mellow Mushroom on Thursday, April 25th. CKG will receive 15% of sales for both dine-in and carry-out orders for all who mention this fundraiser.



  • CKG will attend Ashland Train Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10-4. We hope you will stop by our booth and say hello as we share our message with the community!

Conversations with CKG: Wednesday, May 15, 12pm EST



Join the CKG Team as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month with a conversation surrounding self-care, positive coping skills, available resources, and more. We will discuss what this month means to us and how we work as individuals and collectively as a team to prioritize our own mental health and encourage others to do the same.
