What's Happening Around the Campus

Stolen Items: All SPA students are assigned lockers with unique lock combinations. These lockers are a great place for students to store their belongings and valuables like cell phones. Any significant valuables that are not required for after school communication or for other school purposes should be left at home. To maintain the effectiveness of these lockers, students must not share their locker combinations with any other students (even friends) and must keep their lockers locked at all times. Students are also responsible for keeping their belongings on their person or behind locked locker or classroom doors.

Lost Items: We have three Lost and Found areas on campus: front office, upstairs across from the restrooms, and the MPR. Sometimes lost books/planners can be found outside of the Deans’ office, as well. Please encourage your children to look for any lost items in these areas!

Health and Safety

Hearing and Vision Screening is almost here

Nurse Warrington will be conducting hearing and vision screenings beginning Tuesday, September 5th. If your child wears glasses or contacts, please make sure they have them at school. The screenings will include all students in 7th and 9th grades as well as select other students. Students who do not pass their initial screening will be rescreened at a later date. The parents of students who do not pass a 2nd hearing and vision screening will be notified by the school nurse. Keep an eye out for a sign-up link coming soon if you would like to volunteer. Please notify the nurse if you would like your student to opt out of the screenings.

Immunization

All students need to have a complete immunization record on file. If Nurse Warrington has emailed you requesting additional information, please make sure you respond so your student can remain in compliance. If your student is turning 11 this year, make sure they receive their Meningococcal and Tdap vaccines at their wellness appointment.

College Counseling Corner

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! We are excited to welcome students and families. This year's college counseling team includes Mrs. Shannon Coolidge who is returning from last year, Ms. Monica Ware, who is joining us from Great Hearts Anthem, and Mrs. Aimee Vincent, who interned with us last year and is now joining us as a full fledged member of the college counseling team!

Our goal as college counselors is to provide the tools for each student to develop a list of colleges that will be a good fit for their academic, social, and financial needs. We encourage parents and students to read the weekly Friday Wrap-Ups to stay abreast of key dates, meetings, and opportunities.

We are available by phone, email, Zoom and in-person meetings:

Mrs. Shannon Coolidge: Schedule a Meeting

Mrs. Aimee Vincent: Schedule a Meeting

Ms. Monica Ware: Schedule a Meeting with Ms. Ware by signing up on the schedule outside of her office door or email.
