2-day Dynamic Room Entry Handgun Course

Course Description: This 2-day firearms training course will focus on introducing the student to tactical concepts and dynamic actions that are used to negotiate doorways, make room entry and safely clear rooms.
Techniques will cover strategies on how to deal with closed and opened doorways, moving through doorway openings, controlled room entry and room domination.
Students will learn individual and two person team room entry techniques while engaging single threats and multiple threats during shoot / no-shoot decision making drills.
Students will also learn Close Quarter Battle (CQB) techniques and advanced combat gun-handling skills that are necessary to engage threats from contact distance out to 10 yards.
This is a fast paced, physically demanding firearms training course! Students should be in good physical condition, familiar with their equipment and have solid intermediate gun-handling skills established prior to attending this firearms training course.

- Firearms safety and safe gun-handling procedures.
- Conditioning mental focus and combat mindset.
- Enhanced tactical aptitude.
- Review of the natural action stance and thumbs forward grip.
- Presenting from ready pistol and position SUL.
- Moving off the line of force and lateral displacement.
- Threat assessment and area scanning.
- Dominating the weapon, threat and visual areas.
- Combat gun-handling skills.
- Basic elements of dynamic room entry.
- Slicing the pie and limited penetration.
- Threat area control and verbal communication.
- Establishing interlocking fields of fire.
- Criss-cross team room entry.
- Two person stack - team room entry.
- Mastering Sight Gear 2 - The Flash Sight Picture.
- Combined skills evaluation.
- Individual shoot / don't shoot live-fire scenarios.
- 2-man team shoot / don't shoot live-fire scenarios.
- Timed Combat Handgun Qualification Course with certified marksmanship rating.

Course duration: 2 days / 16 hours
Course times: Saturday – 0800 to 1700 and Sunday – 0830 to 1700
Student requirements: Notepad and pen, eye protection, ear protection, baseball type cap, heavy-duty leather or nylon pants belt, holster and magazine carriers, personal defense pistol with at least (3) standard capacity magazines or (5) single stack magazines, handgun cleaning kit and gun oil / CLP.
Recommended equipment: Rain gear, sunscreen, insect repellent, hydration system and water. (For outdoor classes only)
Pistol Mounted Optic / Red Dot Sight handguns are allowed in this course.
This course will be limited to Personal Defense handguns that are designed to be carried for personal protection. Competition pistols will not be allowed in this course.
