Greetings!

Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy is pleased to present our 2021 Annual Report highlighting our organization's accomplishments over the past year and recognizing the incredible donors and supporters who make our work possible. In 2021, Southern Reins provided 1,779 hours of services to 110 unique individuals representing twenty-five different diagnoses. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the talent of our staff, we are on track to surpass these numbers in 2022 and serve even more individuals with disabilities and hardship this year.

We hope that you will be a part of helping our participants find success in the saddle by volunteering, donating to our scholarship fund, or simply sharing your support of Southern Reins with others.
Donate to our Scholarship Fund to Make Equine Therapy Accessible to All
Participating in Southern Reins' adaptive horseback riding program can make a world of difference in the lives of our participants and their families. Thanks to the incredible gifts of donors like you, Southern Reins is able to offer scholarships to ensure that our programs are accessible to all regardless of financial hardship.

Here is just one of many stories of scholarship recipients and their experience of the life-changing magic of Southern Reins.

"Abygale is eleven, has attention deficit disorder, a learning disability, and stutters when she speaks. After her grandmother began volunteering at Southern Reins and saw the positive impact working with horses had on other children, she knew that Abygale would benefit, too. After the very first lesson, we could tell how calm Abygale became and how focused on the horse she was rather than on her surroundings. She looks forward to every lesson, and calls Jute, "her horse!" We are so very lucky to have received a scholarship and found a place like Southern Reins. I hope we can continue building Abygale's confidence at Southern Reins, one lesson at a time. " -Krista Crabtree, Abygale's mom

Monogram Foods Summer Interns Volunteer at Farm

Thank you to our friends from Monogram Foods for spending your afternoon volunteering at Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy. Enjoying Equine-Assisted Activities to Beat the Heat

What do we do when it is too hot to ride? We beat the heat with pony popsicles! Last week, our participants made frozen treats for our therapy horses during lessons and participated in unmounted activities including giving Jute a refreshing hose-off. What a fun way to keep cool and participate in equine-assisted activities!

Carnival Memphis Princesses Volunteer at Southern Reins

As part of the Carnival Memphis day of service, Carnival Princesses and members volunteered at nonprofit organizations across our community. Here at the farm, volunteers helped clean tack and facilities, repaired and stained fences, and brought lots of smiles and encouragement to everyone here at Southern Reins! Thank you, Carnival Memphis!

Our 10-Week Spring Session concluded in June, and we captured some amazing moments at the farm. We appreciate our incredible volunteers for their dedication to our participants so they can continue to work toward achieving their goals.
