Dear Southern Reins Family,

August has been a remarkable month for Southern Reins! We wrapped up our most successful Summer Session to date and kicked off our 16-week Fall Session on August 12. As we welcome the cooler temperatures, we eagerly anticipate the vibrant fall season at the farm.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to invite you to our 3rd Annual Southern Supper at Memphis Country Club on Thursday, November 21. We hope you can join us for an evening of Southern elegance and charm. Event sponsorships and tickets are now available. Alongside our signature fall fundraiser, we are excited to launch our Hay For A Day campaign this month. Your tax-deductible donation will provide essential forage for our equine partners, helping them stay healthy and happy. Your gift, no matter how large or small, will be so greatly appreciated by all of our wonderful therapy horses.

Also this month, we celebrate our Program Coordinator, Maddy Kelley, for earning her PATH Intl. CTRI certification, and we commend Program Director, Sara Zurenko, for her presentation at the PATH Intl. Region 5 Conference in Ocala, FL. Additionally, a heartfelt THANK YOU to all our incredible supporters who have joined our Guardian Angel Club. Your contributions are making a significant difference, and our herd is truly grateful.

Lastly, our Fall Gear is now available for order! Choose from adult-sized long-sleeve tees, crewneck sweatshirts, hoodies, and quarter-zip pullovers. Show your program support or give as a gift for the upcoming holidays! Every purchase supports our mission, so do not miss out - orders are due by noon on Friday, September 6!

PATH Intl. Region 5 Conference

Southern Reins is delighted to share that our Program Director and Head Instructor, Sara Zurenko, had the distinct honor of presenting at the PATH International Region 5 Conference in Ocala, FL this past weekend!

Her insightful presentation, titled “Creating a Rewarding Riding Experience for Individuals Who are Non-Verbal and Non-Compliant,” offered valuable advice, effective techniques, and best practices for overcoming challenges. Sara’s session focused on enhancing the experience for both Instructors and participants, ensuring that each Adaptive Riding session is both positive and enjoyable. We are so grateful for the opportunity for Sara to speak and share her knowledge and expertise with our PATH Intl. family!
