Planning the Ultimate Balancing Act

Planning is one of the most complicated functions of municipal government. Planning can be the difference between thriving cities with a healthy tax base and communities that can barely keep up with providing needed infrastructure and services. South Jordan plans as much as 30 years at a time, updating plans as varying market and societal changes occur. Municipal planners can plan for the future using the general plan, small area plans, zoning, transportation plans, and regional plans. They also influence various county and state boards that make decisions on broader planning initiatives and funding.

Parent Pirate Date Night, Skull and Pirate with Swords crossed behind it.

Parent & Pirate Date Night

Parents will help their pirates (children) make a coin purse, and then go on an escape-room-type treasure hunt, enjoy interactions with Captain Hook and Peter Pan, riddles with Mermaids, and playing on a life-sized pirate ship. Each pirate will also get their very own inflatable sword. Event is open to all parent-child combinations regardless of gender. This event is recommended for elementary school age children. Any age of child is welcome, but younger children will need more help with the escape-room-type treasure hunt. Completing the treasure hunt is not required, and the game can be altered to be easier upon request.
