Cheer Story: Heritage Village Days Marks Another Year Of Success!
Heritage Village Days in Weyburn provides visitors with a unique journey back in time, inviting them to step into the shoes of their ancestors and wander through a replica village spanning the turn of the century to the 1940s. Heritage Village Days has been apart of many locals’ celebrations each year (the Friday after August long weekend) and continues to be a great success.

Join Team South East Mission Staff
We are currently recruiting volunteers to join our Mission Staff for Team South East. This is a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to be a part of a provincial multi-sport event. Mission Staff receive a walk-out uniform and get to be a part of the opening and closing ceremonies. All volunteers participate in an orientation and also attend our Team South East Pep Rally in Weyburn. All expenses are covered by the District (mileage, meals, accommodations).

Volunteer Resource Hub
Why is Community Important for Volunteers?
Many people choose to volunteer in search of a sense of belonging. They may seek connection through the common causes or activities that your organization supports. Perhaps they hope to experience personal growth, develop skill sets, expand their networks, or be close to those who are making an impact in their hometown. Many people choose to volunteer in hopes of making new friends and return again and again because they are connected to the community they've gained at your organization.

Whatever the reason someone chooses to volunteer with your organization, take a look at the ways you build a sense of community in your organization and you'll find the key to success!

Become a Winter Town!
South East District’s Winter Town Initiative is aimed at providing increased opportunities for communities to kick-start planning for the cold, winter season. Groups apply to host a free, virtual one-hour think tank facilitated by South East District staff team members. The think tank results in a “Storm of Ideas” that leaders can take back to their community to further explore, collaborate on, and implement. Take advantage of winter and transform your town into a more inviting and vibrant place to be, positively impacting quality of life throughout the winter months! Whether it is looking at public spaces, new activities or outdoor public events, the ideas are endless!

Why Apply to Host a Winter Town Think Tank?
• Start the conversation with fellow leaders in your community on what could be done to promote positive winter experiences
• Create a “Storm of Ideas” amongst your group of potential actions that can be explored and implemented (short and long term)
• Examine ways of making it easier to go outside to be creative and active in the community during the winter season

Contact Joni Hagen, Executive Director, at ed@southeastdistrict.ca to book a Zoom think tank today or to discuss details!
