Farewell and Thank You to Outgoing Board Members
We wish to express our profound gratitude and heartfelt thanks to both Ryan Reiss of Vibank and Ryan Dale of Weyburn for their service on the board of directors of the South East District.
Ryan R has the ability to ask those critical questions and always see the big picture. He also volunteered as a mission staff member for the 2023 Saskatchewan Winter Games for Team South East.
Ryan D is a passionate leader and served as a huge advocate for the district, promoting our services wherever possible and, most recently, acting as a financial signor for the organization.
Both of these individuals are leaving the province and are starting new adventures elsewhere! Best wishes and keep in touch!

Cheer Story: Weyburn Arts Council Bringing The Arts Outdoors!
The Weyburn Arts Council's commitment to community engagement has taken a refreshing turn by embracing the outdoors in its programming initiatives. The initiatives feature local artists turning public spaces into dynamic canvases that celebrate local talent. The Weyburn Arts Council has successfully transformed the outdoor landscape into an inclusive gallery. By involving both local artists and community members in these initiatives, the council has not only showcased artistic talent within Weyburn but has also fostered a strong sense of connection.

Celebrating Everyday Heroes in Sport, Culture & Recreation
South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District is celebrating Everyday Heroes in sport, culture, and recreation as part of the 2024 National Volunteer Week.

People who go above and beyond in the community often go unnoticed, and we have decided to change that. We are asking communities, groups, and individuals to send us their sport/culture/recreation Everyday Heroes who serve their community daily. We will bring their passion and dedication to light through a Cheer Story during National Volunteer Week {April14-20}.

Our cheer stories are shared in our monthly newsletter, social media and website.

Send us your inspiring stories and celebrate these Everyday Heroes with us. To recognize a hero, send us an email at admin@southeastdistrict.ca by March 31 describing:

1. What groups or committees is the volunteer a part of?
2. What makes the individual a volunteer Everyday Hero?
3. Are there specific projects or activities this volunteer has lead recently?

Please provide a photo (if possible) that demonstrates their volunteerism.

Rise Against Racism. March 21 is designated by the United Nations (UN) as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

It’s a day observed all around the world to focus attention on the problems of racism and the need to promote racial harmony. The UN made this designation in 1966 to mark a tragic event that took place on March 21, 1960 in Sharpeville, South Africa when 69 peaceful demonstrators were killed during a protest against apartheid.
