Renewed Lottery Agreement Benefits Saskatchewan Communities
On May 11, 2023, the Government of Saskatchewan, Sask Sport, SaskCulture and the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association signed a renewed lottery distribution agreement, continuing a longstanding and successful partnership.

The renewed agreement guarantees that proceeds from lottery ticket sales will continue to support sport, culture and recreation across the province for the next six years. Saskatchewan has authorized lottery tickets to be used as a dedicated fundraiser for sport, culture and recreation since 1974.
Meet our South East District Board of Directors!
South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District held its annual meeting on May 31, 2023 at the Bear Claw Hotel, White Bear First Nation.

South East District is pleased to announce our Board of Directors. Our Board includes Jacquie Van De Woestyne of Weyburn, Tami Scott of Oxbow, Morgan Kelly of Weyburn, Ryan Dale of Weyburn, ⁠Skylar Antoniuk of Alameda⁠, Tina Clay of Weyburn⁠, Ryan Reiss of Vibank⁠, and Stefan Clark of Stoughton.

A huge round of applause to Rhonda Lamb of Kronau. Thank you, Rhonda, for the dedication and commitment you have brought to our organization!

The organization also celebrated an employee service milestone - Dallas Cossar, Administrative Coordinator was recognized for five years of service. This “milestone recognition” celebrates the contributions, accomplishments and relationships South East District employees build over time with the organization.  
Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD)
This one-day training will help front-line leaders (anyone working with children aged 6 to 12) improve the quality of programs. It provides in-depth training in the HIGH FIVE Principles of healthy child development so front-line leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met. Leaders learn activities, gain knowledge, tips & resources to enhance their programs and their relationships with the participants and staff.

Sport Nutrition: Let’s Get Started
Join this motivating session where you will gain perspective on how nutrition plays an essential role in activity and sport performance. The presenter will share practical guidance on fueling strategies including pre- and post- exercise, key nutrients of concern, hydration facts, including use of sport beverages and overview of supplement queries.

Who is it for? It is designed for coaches & parents of athletes.

Cheer Story: Milestone's Coop Community Sport Court Comes To Life!
The community of Milestone wanted a year-round outdoor facility that would be enjoyed by all ages. The goal was to build a place that bridges the seasonal gaps between the ice rink and the swimming pool and create a space where the joys of sports and recreation are not bound by the constraints of weather.

Sport Spotlight
Lloydminster officially named as host of the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games! 
In the summer of 2024, more than 1,800 athletes, coaches and officials will gather in the Border City to share in the thrill of competition and camaraderie on the provincial stage. Upwards of 1,000 community volunteers will be recruited to help welcome thousands of visitors to Lloydminster during the seven days of Games competition.

Free Park Pass Lending Program Returns This Summer
The Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA) is once again partnering with the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) and the Saskatchewan Regional Parks Association (SRPA) to offer free regional park passes this summer.

Starting from May 18 to Sept. 15, 2023, people with a valid library card can borrow a pass from any Saskatchewan library and enjoy a seven-day loan period with free access to nearly 100 regional parks across the province.

Passes must be borrowed in person and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Library customers are encouraged to contact their local branch to ensure availability.

In June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month to celebrate the history, heritage and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada.

National Indigenous Peoples Day is on June 21, celebrate the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis!
Every year, during the month of June, the 2SLGBTQIA+ community celebrates in a number of different ways.

Pride month is an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the community. Parades are a prominent feature of Pride month, and there are many street parties, community events, poetry readings, public speaking, street festivals and educational sessions all of which are covered by mainstream media and attracting millions of participants.

Saskatchewan Lotteries - Everyone Wins!
Sask Lotteries funds over 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups across Saskatchewan. Every time you purchase a lottery ticket in Saskatchewan, a portion of that revenue supports a wealth of organizations in our communities. Subscriptions allow lottery players to play draw-based games – including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, WESTERN MAX, WESTERN 649, DAILY GRAND and EXTRA – for up to a year in advance. Subscriptions can be purchased by phone, by mail, or on the Sask Lotteries website.
