ASA certifications available: (ASA 103, 104, 114) and (ASA 111 - Sailing Review). The cost is $300 per certification plus the cost of the textbook and shipping. NEW ASA 116 (Dinghy & Outboard Motor Endorsement) available for $250.

The event will be on Sunday, May 26th. RSVP is encouraged and an invitation will be coming out soon. Please arrive at 7:45PM. It will be outdoors on a projector, and the first video will air at 8:30PM. Please bring your own lawn chair. There will be refreshments to enjoy!

Rum Races 2024 Upcoming Series

Dates: May 25, June 29,

July 13 & 27, August 10 & 17

The races are fun and informal! Please join us for the first race of the series, Saturday, May 25th. Advance your sailing skills in a competitive environment! The Galveston Bay Cruising Association and Cruzan Rum sponsor the Rum Race Series. The total course length is 11 nautical miles on Galveston Bay!

Attend a single race, a series, or for the entire season!

Schedule

4:15 - Check-in at SCSA

5:15 - Departure, Clear Lake

6:15 - Approx. start time

Races end between 7:00-7:30pm.

Series 2: May 8, 15, 22, 29

New sailors will have the opportunity to practice identifying points of sail, tacking and making quick right of way decisions. The Wednesday Night Races also help ASA 101 graduates build time out on the water!

(At least 24 on-water sailing hours needed before ASA 103)

Club members, we encourage you to renew now for 2024-2025! Annual membership and renewal after June 30th, 2024, will be $599 per year, effective July 1st. For current members we can postdate your membership! Past club members there is a reinstatement fee of $50.
