We will celebrate baptisms on Sunday, June 2 during our evening service. Our Board of Deacons will be recommending candidates for membership in a few weeks. Their pictures will be displayed in the west hallway on the bulletin board so you can connect a name with a face. A congregational meeting has been called for June 2 after our baptismal service to accept these candidates into membership.

Kingdom Rock Choir

Join us for a musical ride through Philippians on May 19 when the Kingdom Rock Kids’ Choir presents “Joy Ride.” This presentation will start at 6 PM in the chapel. Every song lyrically captures a section from the book of Philippians. No tickets necessary.

HOPE FOR THE CAREGIVER- Thursday, June 6th 6:30-8:00 PM in Room 202

Join Pastor Doug, David Seal and Kelly Sites for spiritual encouragement, resilience, and support as you provide care for your family members. You are your loved one’s advocate, protector, and companion, and there are many responsibilities in the role of care giver. In this session we will help you navigate some of the many challenges of caregiving and help you find the necessary resources.

Caregiving is a unique partnership between you and your family member. It takes communication and working together to find the right balance for both of you.

Hope for the Care Giver is a ministry of South Church that comes alongside those who are caring for a spouse, children, parents, or other family members.

Join other Legacy members on a short trip to MSU's Abrams Planetarium to see the wonders of the Aurora Borealis.

We will meet at the Church on Thursday, May 16 at 10 AM and drive to the Planetarium together. After the wonderful show we will go to the Pizza House for lunch and return to the Church around 3 PM.

The cost for lunch and the Planetarium is $20.

Please sign up at the Legacy board and pay Terri in advance if possible.

Impact Lansing

Impact Lansing is a great combination of summer camp and service projects that takes place right here at South and in our Lansing community. Come enjoy a week of relationship building, serving our community, and intense competition.

This camp is for exiting 6-8th graders (kids who were in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade during the 2023-24 school year), and takes place July 14-20. The cost is all-inclusive. To grab the early bird price of $249, register and pay before May 19. After May 19, the price will increase to $299. If you'd like more information, contact Pastor Joel or Jessica. Registration ends June 26.

We will also need people to serve in the kitchen! If you’re interested in helping out as an individual or a small group, contact Terri.

Mexico Mission Trip

Interested in going on the Mexico Mission Trip this fall? The dates are November 22 - 30, and open to all ages 16 and over. There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, June 18 via Zoom at 7:00 PM. Visit the table in the Gathering, or contact Chris Kinnas at (517) 249-8551 or ckinnas@gmail.com for more information.

SERVE

We will need many volunteers for VBS! Please begin praying for how you could be involved. We are looking for volunteers to help with Elementary, Nursery & Preschool kids, Crafts, Snacks & Greeting. Online sign-up for teen and adult volunteers will begin April 26 and end June 9^th. Please go to the table either in the Gathering space or near the Library to get answers to your questions and to pick up invitations and prayer reminders.

Pick up a bottle on Mother's Day, pray for the clients and staff fill the bottle with cash or check (written to Shared Pregnancy) and return the filled bottle by Father's Day.

Calling all singers and tenors. Join the choir this fall. First rehearsal will be August 28 at 6:30 PM. Mark your calendar. No audition necessary. The choir is a wonderful place to serve together. Contact Pastor Corb at info@southlife.org for more details.
