CONNECT

Men in Prayer will be Saturday, August 5, at 8:30 AM. We will meet in person in the Fireside Room. Find more information on the South Church Men’s Ministry Facebook page or contact Pastor Tim at tvanloh@southlife.org.

Legacy Picnic in the Park, August 10, 11:30-2 PM. Please join us for lunch at Hawk Island Park in Lansing. All you need to bring a dish to pass and a lawn chair. There is a small charge for each car to enter the park.

I Will Survive and Thrive cancer group for women will be meeting on Monday, August 7th at Noon in the Fireside Room. After caring and sharing we will work on our pillow project. Hope to see you there!

To our church artists at South - We will be hosting our next Open Portfolio Night for all our local church artists on February 3rd in 2024. This year's theme will be "The Beauty of His Holiness". If you are interested in participating, begin thinking on this theme as you prepare your pieces for next year. Adhering to the theme is not required. For more information on this event, go to southlife.org/opn.

Judean Journey B.I.G.

We are looking forward to Judean Journey, this year’s theme for B.I.G. It stands for Becoming In-depth with Christ and it’s for all of our kids who have completed 1st-4th grade.

We’ll meet each Sunday in August as well as September 3. Kids can be dropped off at 9:20 to room 214 and can be picked up there as well at 10:45 (there are no elementary classes 2nd hour during B.I.G; nursery-K meet both hours as usual). We are looking forward to following along with Jesus as he taught and healed around Judea. We’ll learn that Jesus experienced rejection and what it means to live for God, not only to please ourselves.

SERVE

We are looking for more choir singers starting in the fall. All parts are needed, (especially sopranos and altos). Reading music is beneficial but not crucial. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:30 with the first rehearsal of the season on August 30. Come one. Come all. No audition necessary. If you are interested in participating in the choir next season, come to our Choir Picnic at Hawk Island on August 10 at 5 PM. Contact Pastor Corb if interested. For more info on the choir, go to southlife.org/choir

We are in need of musicians for most instruments in the worship band or orchestra. The only instrument we have 100% covered is the accordion. If you play anything else, we have openings. Please contact Pastor Corb right away at cfelgenhour@southlife.org.

This fall we will begin our 41st year of Awana. We will need a team of volunteers to serve in this ministry of teaching children God's Truth. Please let us know if you'd be interested in learning about serving at Awana by contacting Kathy Risch (krisch@southlife.org).
