Dear friends,
In 2003, while I was raising two young children and running a nonprofit dedicated to creating a more sustainable Martin County, the Firefly Group was just a spark of an idea. Fast forward 15 years and just like my kids,
Firefly
has grown up! It’s now the largest full-service public relations and marketing firm of its kind on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Part of that evolution is because of you - and I thank you for being part of this journey!

, my goal has never been to maximize profits. That may seem illogical to you if you’re a business owner or investor, but my measurement of success has always been motivated by something much more meaningful: creating a positive impact in our little corner of the world.

Firefly
was recently the recipient of a notable 5 out of 11 Image awards presented by the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. Winners are chosen from numerous entries across the region and demonstrate the very best examples of innovation, planning, and design in public relations.
Earlier this year,
Firefly
also received three Addy Awards from the Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
Firefly
has now amassed nearly 90 awards for our public relations and marketing efforts on behalf of a diverse client base ranging from small businesses, nonprofit organizations, large landowners, and government agencies.

Firefly received an Award from the
Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association
for a comprehensive branding campaign for
Marine Electronics of the Treasure Coast (METCo)
. After merging two established businesses, METCo needed comprehensive marketing services to launch and brand the business. Firefly designed a new logo, website, collateral materials, vehicle wraps and trade show displays and also generated awareness through a media relations and e-communications campaign.
METCo was able to retain more than 85% of the former customer base. In just over a year, their client base increased by 25%. METCo is currently expanding its staff with four new positions to meet the needs of its growing customer base.

Firefly received two awards for its publication of the
Florida Ranches Calendar
, which we have been producing for 13 years. The calendar uses stunning photographs coupled with compelling text to tell the story of Florida’s cattle ranches and the important role they play in environmental stewardship and conservation. It serves as a teaching tool to educate the public and especially to instill an appreciation within those who live in more urbanized areas. The calendar sold out this year, and was distributed to more than 2,500 people across Florida and beyond. Members of the Florida Cattleman’s Association personally delivered calendars to every Florida House and Senate representatives office during the 2018 legislative session as part of its educational outreach efforts.

Firefly also received two awards on behalf of one of its most beloved nonprofit organizations,
Keep Martin Beautiful,
for the planning and execution of the annual
Keep Florida Beautiful Conference.
Attended by more than 100 affiliate members from throughout the state, the conference exceeded expectations while also helping to promote Martin County, its environmental amenities, and tourist attractions.
The conference drew higher attendance than previous years and garnered high praise from attendees. In terms of success in promoting Martin County as a tourist destination, eighty percent of attendees reported taking advantage of area restaurants, beaches, shopping and cultural activities. When asked if they would visit Martin County again, 100% of the respondents declared, “Yes.”

Firefly
also won an award this year on behalf of
Citizens Against Rail Expansion in Florida (CARE FL)
, a coalition created by a group of concerned community leaders, organizations and neighbors in South Florida and the Treasure Coast to oppose the All Aboard Florida/Brightline passenger rail project. This ill-conceived project will have profoundly negative impacts on the quality of life, health and safety of residents.
Firefly manages CARE FL's website, social media platforms, and local grassroots educational events. The outreach and engagement generated through social media has been both impactful and cost efficient. The CARE FL Facebook page has more than 5,700 likes, mostly generated organically.
In 2017, CARE FL's message was received by more than a million people through social media with nearly two million impressions in that same year.
CARE FL has been a leader in protecting citizens along the Treasure Coast and Firefly is proud to help them communicate their message through social media.
