Welcome back to our beautiful Mountain Song Community School! We are so happy to see you and embark on another semester of learning, growing, and caring together. We have some new students as well as new teachers joining our school, and we extend our warmest welcome to all.


School Performance Rating Means Automatic Charter Renewal!
The Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team announce the excellent news that Mountain Song has received a rating of “Performance” for the 2017-18 school year by the Colorado Department of Education and by the Charter School Institute. 

Parent Information Sessions and School Tours
Are you interested, or know someone who is interested, in enrolling children in Mountain Song Community School? This month we are offering Parent Information Sessions and School Tours so families can learn more about our unique school and approach to education.

100 Years of Waldorf Education
With the first Waldorf school founded in 1919, we celebrate a full century of Waldorf education this year! The Waldorf 100 initiative is connecting Waldorf and Waldorf-inspired schools in projects and outreach efforts related to this unique educational model. Watch video below and read story here . 
Library Committee Meeting Jan. 9, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
There will be a meeting of the Library Committee on Wednesday, January 9, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. We will be looking at where the library is now, where it needs to go in the future and how to get there, and discussing the possibilities for a Spring Book Fair.

Vision and Hearing Screenings January 11
On January 11, we will be conducting our annual vision and hearing screenings per state mandate.

Volunteers Needed: Vision and Hearing Screenings
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS: Mountain Song's eyes and ears need you! We need 6 - 8 volunteers to conduct the hearing and vision screenings under the guidance of our consulting nurse, Kimberly Nowland, on Friday, January 11.

Board Meeting Schedule Changes
Due to the break, the MSCS Board of Directors will have a modified meeting schedule in January. Meeting dates will vary from the normal schedule of meeting the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The meetings, still scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., will meet on the following dates:

  • January 8, 2019
  • January 22, 2019

In February, board meetings will return to their normal schedule of first and third Tuesdays of the month.
